Penn State (33-2, #3 Seed)		Stanford (32-2, #1 Seed)

Sorry I didn't get a chance to post an open thread for the Men's Basketball game this afternoon. For some reason I thought it started at 6 PM. So you can imagine I didn't get to watch it either. Curious thought: I don't think I could ever imagine myself forgetting what time a football game starts. But with basketball it's just "Oh well." I guess that really sums up the state of our basketball program.

Anyway, the reason for this open thread is the Women's Volleyball team who will be playing for the National Championship tonight against Stanford. You can watch the game on ESPN2 at 9 PM.

30-25 game one. Yeah Mike, the girl with the "Oakleys" is everything they have on offense. Barbosa is a liability on serve receive as well.

i remember

looking at PSU's national stats. they were way high in many categories.
was going to do a comparison until Nebraska didn't make the Final Four.

PSU's

defense is much much better than Stanford.

Stanford must not be used to such good blocking, although that Faluke girl gets around that very well because she's so damned good at aiming the ball. Man, she's amazing.

I know

that we are ranked #2 for blocks but because of that, we only get like 3.2 digs per game we were are like 219th or something for defense :-) Harmoto is #2 in the country with a .494 hitting % and our setter has a sick number of assists.

PSU's

kill percentage was low to start the match, but now it's getting up around .480, Nicolle Fawcett.

Stanford kill per. was high, around .500, but again, PSU's defense is doing much better than Stanford.
