Some Recruiting Analysis

Just a little number crunching if you will. Take it for what it is worth, as we all know numbers are not the Gods given truth, you can make them say what you want. What I am trying to say in this post is that PSU is not recruiting the state well this year. All recruiting information was provided via espn football recruiting http://www.espn.com/ncf/recruiting/tracker a>

If you look at the class of 08 prospects for Pennsylvania there are seven (7) prospects from Pennsylvania. Of that seven prospects, six have committed to other schools. The schools include Michigan, Ohio State, Pittsburgh, and Florida.
There is one undecieded and that is obviously Pryor. Who incedentially will go to one of the teams stated above or PSU.  If you look at the top 30 in the state of Pennsylvania, PSU only recieved committments from four (4) of those players. What happened to the days when PSU "owned" Pennsylvania? It looks like the other Big Ten powers can pluck who they want from within the borders of the state these days.

Looking back at the class of 07 it is much of the same on six (6) of the top 30 were PSU bound.
