I just caught this on the WWL. It was hard to fine with Tommy Bowden all over the place and his firing at Clemson. But it seems that not everyone at ESPN thinks Joe is going to be forced to hang it up. Maybe now the OTL piece is getting its due for badly portraying JoePa, at least Gene thinks so. Enjoy the re-tread of the pre-season.

Maybe Spanier is a master motivator

Paterno got a little too comfortable. Spanier starts to make rumblings about retirement and national search and what not and that causes Joe to go for broke and install a whole new offensive philospohy just to show up Spanier and Curley.

It was a masterful stroke by the University Prez.
