Don't forget this post by Maize n' Brew...

PSU has lost nine in a row to U of M.  How does 10 in a row sound?  You guys have not beat U o M in a decade or more, so don't count on in now.  Rest assured that you are going to lose.  It will probably cost you a shot at the national championship... again.  You are going to lose yet again this year.  Next year is not looking good either.  You are going to lose to Michigan until you get two years off.

Heh

That’s all they have. Talk.

Toledo.

That is all.

John Madden told me 90% of the game was half-mental...

Ego

I remember simply tons of Michigan fans on message boards (and a few in person, actually) who could not stop mocking our loss during the dark years to… Toledo. Losing to a MAC team was simply something that no decent school would ever do, especially at home. Well, not look a things. Plus, they have a recent loss to a 1-AA school as well.

Just sayin’, what comes around….

This cannot be stated enough.

The Toledo team that beat Penn State was good.

The Toledo team that beat Michigan is 2-4 after their win against the Wolverines. In short, they sucked.

Big, big difference.

Amen.

The Toledo team that just beat Michigan should finish the year below .500. This football team will count Michigan as one of their easier games of 2008, and you couldn’t say that about the Toledo team that beat Penn State.

by jimbo2psu on Oct 14, 2008 9:43 AM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Agreed

While our loss to Toledo sucked, they were basically the level of an average to below average BCS team that year. It was like losing to a team like Maryland if you can look past the name and conference affiliation. Toledo 2008, however, looks like a lower tier MAC tier. In fact, they are probably weaker than 2007 Appalachian St.

The sad part though is this...

his words could come true if the lions don’t win it will cost them a National Championship chance.

With that said, I do not think the lions will come close to losing this game, not because Michigan is so bad, but because the Lions are so good and it has been 12 years since a Lions team has beat them…do you think that is not on the minds of the players this week? Having Michigan a week before OSU is one of the greatest parts of the schedule this year, it prevents a sleeper game, and it should also provide the Lions an opportunity to rest the starters in the 4th quarter. I look for a 50+ showing from the Lions this week.

dude's delusional

Don’t waste your time. PSU is better than M, and will be prepared for this game. If there are decent playing conditions on the field Saturday, we’ll be just taking care of business.

Wasn’t he on that Toledo team that beat PSU?

Dear Maize and Brew...

Want to watch the game at my house?

I’ll buy the beer and I’ll even make ribs. You can get as drunk as you want, I’ll even let you crash on my couch. Wear all the Michigan stuff you want. You’re invited. Come on over, it will be fun. Maybe we can be the two guys from rival schools that watch the game together on Big Ten Friday Night Tailgate. It will be aweome.

I promise.

See you Saturday.

Jeez

Does that mean your wife will be at my house again this weekend?

It’s cool, though – I’ll be at PSU. Her and my honey can bitch about neither of us being worth a damn when it comes to raking leaves.

You didn’t catch any crap last weekend, did ya? Fill us in – inquirring minds want to know!

Hey, whatever it takes

Naah, but I had to rake the leaves on Sunday morning before I went to referee. Which wasn’t very fun at all.

She never did bring home the A-1 though. Seriously it was the least you could have done.

settle down

maize is partially right-we had a better team than them last year and lost, as well as 2005, 2002, etc. until we get “the michigan monkey” off our back, i will not prescribe to the national hype.

that being said, this psu team does not have the same game philosophy that cost us other matchups in the past. this psu team is just frightening, and im sure lloyd carr is very happy he got out.

hey, if you are having a dismall season, wouldn’t you want to lash out a little as well?

by psudrozz on Oct 14, 2008 10:42 AM EDT   0 recs

of course i would want to lash out....

but we WOULDN’T because PSU fans aren’t arrogant pricks like Michigan fans are. they don’t know how to keep their mouth shut…..even when their team sucks. F*CK MICHIGAN.

I HOPE one of their fans says something to me while I’m piss drunk off Yuenglings, ribs and potato salad.

I will be happy

as long as we beat them by at least 116 points.

I will be satisfied with a win.

For the record

The comment you quote was from Maize-n-Blue. Not Maize-n-Brew. MnB Dave is a good friend of mine so I feel like I have to defend his honor here.

by BSD on Oct 14, 2008 11:44 AM EDT   0 recs

I stand corrected

and amend my invitation accordingly.

My apologies to Maize n Brew as well....

didn’t realize there was a maize n blue. sorry bout that….but whomever this asshole is, he can die of gonorrhea and rot in hell.

that was a movie quote….not to be taken literally

by Stately NOVA Lion on Oct 14, 2008 2:29 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

So, I was thinking...

Why do Michigan fans say “go blue”? Most schools list their primary color first & doesn’t Michigan always list its colors as Maize and Blue. So, shouldn’t they be saying “go maize”? When they say “go blue”, aren’t they supporting Penn State? Come to think of it, isn’t “maize” just another word for “corn”? So, shouldn’t they be saying “go corn”? :)

by Elihu on Oct 14, 2008 11:48 AM EDT   0 recs

LOL

I love this. ‘Go Corn.’ Can I borrow this for use on my Michigan friends this week?

I was hoping people would start using it.

The other one I’m trying to get started is jaOss for just another Ohio state school. I’m sure you can guess to whom I’m referring.

by Elihu on Oct 14, 2008 6:50 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

'Go Corn'

feels more useful. I’ll try it out in my smack emails this week, and report back to you.

Actually, could use some examples of teams which ‘schools list their primary colors first,’ if anybody has any.

Help a brother out?
