LJ Sr. Replaces JoePa??
Gotta say I really would be OK w/ Larry Johnson Sr being the guy to replace Paterno (Joepa would probably be too) but let's address some concerns that need to be mentioned.
What's up w/ his son? LJ was hard to manage when at PSU (in Joe's dog house often and didn't get 'green lit' until his senior year) to say the least. Off to the pros where in '03 he is charged w/ aggrevated assault and domestic battery w/ a chick and some fun w/ gun brandishing. Then last week he's out at a bar and is arrested for assault w/ some babe and alcohol is of course involved.
Then we have to throw in the near 'thuggery' of some of the D line boys, I don't have to list them, do I? A bit of concern as to the connection to the coach and his ability to manage the fellas. I had visions of LJ Sr. absolutely tearing ass into these guys after all the fights and such to keep their noses clean. But either he was ineffective or the kids are truly mind-numbingly dumb (quite possible).
Anywho, I truly think that LJ Sr. is a class act and a potentially great next coach, but....... am I missing something? Does his jackass son say something about him or is LJ just uncontrolable and coach is distraught that his son is said jackass? Maybe the apple did fall far from the tree? Do the concerns w/ the D-line tarnish the coaching appeal of LJ Sr? I'm just sayin'.........

Definitely a concern
There is a saying in the Bible that goes something like “A man who cannot keep his own family in order should not be put in a position of authority in the church.”
He has one son who has anger management issues and another that was arrested for DUI during his playing days. Many of the players he coaches and recruited have had anger management issues and trouble with the law. I think it’s a fair question to ask if he is capable of being a disciplinarian that can command the respect of a football team full of young men between the ages of 18-23.
Personally I haven’t made up my mind yes or no on LJSR for head coach.

2nd that
I do fear that we may lose him at the end of the season regardless of what JoePa does as he has built a nice resume for himself over the last few years. His recruiting is incredible and we will miss his talents there as much as in his coaching abilities but the off the field problems are really bothersome. Here’s hoping that the kids are the problem and I wish him success in anything he does… as long as it’s at Penn State, that is :)
If you can smile when things go wrong, you have someone in mind to blame.

If Clemson is smart,
they would give LJ Sr a long hard look. But they’re not.

Hopefully they don't......
That would kill our MD and VA recruiting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is going to be interesting though……a lot of programs are going to have open slots after the season…..Cuse, Washington, Clemson and depending how the rest of the year goes possibly Auburn and Tennessee.

If Auburn fires Tuberville
1] They are fools; and 2] he’ll be coach at Tennessee in about three seconds.
I really though that LSU was going to let Les Miles walk (talk about overrated as a coach) and grab Tommy last fall. IMO is that Tuberville is one of the best coaches in all of college football.

They may be.....
but it is already being talked about in this part of the country as a very real possibility. If he tanks the rest of the year and gets blasted by Bama……his release from Auburn would not come as a surprise. I also don’t think he would end up at Tennessee (assuming Fulmer gets the boot). Tennessee is a very offense minded school and Tuberville is getting most of his critisicm because of lack of offense at Auburn. I also think Tennessee would look for someone who has ties to their program which Tuberville does not have or at least someone with a penchant for big offense…..possibly Lane Kiffen (who will basically have his choice of jobs).

College football lesson number one:
1) Never assume fans, athletic directors, or boosters in the state of Alabama are in any way rational.

Oh you're right
Auburn is the quinetesential little brother school. They won’t realize what a good coach they have until the next guy loses to Alabama five years in a row. Which he will. They think that they are set up to be a national power, and they really aren’t. They are like a glorifed Clemson in a way.

Would LJSR take defensive coordinator?
In the hypothetical situation that Bradley becomes head coach, would LJSR take the position of defensive coordinator at PSU over perhaps a head coaching position elsewhere?

Maybe
But the drawback I see with that is Ron Vanderlinden saying WTF? Remember he was a D-I head coach in the past. Must be humbling for him to be just a position coach at Penn State.
But I would like to see LJSR made DC.
