Numbers Don't Lie, PSU by 15

Penn State vs Ohio State Analysis

Defenses are a wash. Both are very good.  OSU causes more fumbles (9vs4), PSU gets more tackles for loss and sacks (66 vs 48). All other stats are remarkably equivalent, including interceptions. No Points Here!

Strength of Schedule is a wash.  The SOS for OSU wins is equal to PSU SOS according to PREDICTOR computer power ratings. (Takes into account scores, not only wins/losses). Adding the USC loss gives OSU SOS a big edge numerically, but.....it don't count if you lose!  No Points Here!

Special teams are a wash. PSU has strong return game.  OSU punting game is 6 yards better, this is important.  Both Field Goal kickers are having good years. Maybe a slight advantage for PSU, but we will count on No Points Here!

Penalties,  PSU is a bit more disciplined, being a leader in the country with 3.6 penalties per game vs.  OSU  5.6 .  Probably no points here either.

Offense.  PSU completely dominates every conceivable category, period. Pryor and Wells are getting better, and MIGHT perform well,  but the experienced PSU juggernaut CANNOT be held for four quarters. PSU has scored over 18 points per game more than OSU vs equal competition for a statistically significant number of games. Plus 18 here is real.  Believe it..

Give OSU 3 points for home-field advantage and PSU is a 15 point winner.

For The Glory!  Looking forward to a good win!
