New Blog: The Boxing Bulletin for Boxing Fans!

[Bumped (and edited) from the diaries FanShots. I meant to write this exact column two or three weeks ago, so thanks to the Wall Street Journal(!) for overcoming my laziness. And of course, nice find by BSD member psu. - RUTS]

PSU is making the rounds in all the fancy papers!

Ouch...

I was never truly onboard with Schiano because of the scheduling the article mentions but man was that blistering. With LJ Sr. and company re-establishing the NJ recruiting we may be putting Ruts back where they once were.

If you can smile when things go wrong, you have someone in mind to blame.

Same old story...

They marched these same tired articles out back in 2005, also. Only, then, the “obvious” replacement was Ferentz. Granted, the 2005 season came on the heels of a horrible stretch. This season, however, is on the heels of 2 9-win seasons and 2 bowl wins. Like Paterno said, it’s not like they were a bunch of bums out there on ’06 and ’07.

living in NJ

I’ve had to listen to the Schiano b.s. for a few years now. I’m glad the RU bandwagon has been silenced. The guy is a good coach, but let’s not annoint him the 2nd coming of Jesus till he can get into and win a BCS bowl. He’s exposed this year for sure – w/o Ray Rice to run the ball 99% of the time, he has no offense and will be a Big East bottom feeder once again. Oh, and he’s the D coordinator too and you see how well that’s going. Keep him outta State College!

A really solid article....

I agree with every word in it.

PSU manages to improve upon it, though, with a fantastic headline. Well done, psu.

I wouldn't trust old rooster me neither.

Nice Article. . .

“There’s no need to shove Joe Paterno out the door in State College just yet.”

Anyone send this to Ron Morris yet? Remind him that it comes from some little paper up in New York . . .

I am amused at

all the “Mr. Paterno” references. I like the respect, but I half expect these major news sources to call him “JoePa”

Yeah

I can’t read those New York papers because of all that salutatory prefix shite. It’s so distracting.

Although, if any coach in college football deserves a ‘Mr.’, it’s JoePa fo sho.
