2 dead over Bama v LSU

Seriously people, it's a football game!!!  Pride is the primary motivation in most murders but this is just insane.  This is the kind of stuff that we should think about when we look the other way when visiting fans are being taunted by our students or fans.  Pride can cause somebody to snap and make a decision that will cause a lot of pain and regret for a lot of people.  Everyone has a responsibility in ensuring the safety of ALL fans.

I know that the situation which is linked below and the situations that I'm talking about are different but they're both related by the emotions that cause people to act out or make bad decisions.  Pride.  Lets be proud of our school and our program but never misdirect that pride and turn it into something that could get people hurt.

WE ARE!!

BIG 10: Our fans don’t shoot your fans

LOL

Not sure what images popped into my head after reading that, but I definitely got some weird looks at work after I let out a rather large laugh.

Picture it: Joe could be the one delivering the message

in the same “COME TO PENN STATE” voice, with his face scrunched up and gritting his teeth, “OUR FANS DON’T SHOOT YOUR FANS!”.

SEC Football...

If this kind of insanity is required to earn the title of “The Best Conference in the College Football”…then have at it.

The south cannot secede soon enough.

I’m sure both Dennis Smith (LSU) and Michael Williams (Alabama) were graduates of the respective schools. And not just some rednecks who cheered for the team based upon the state they recieved their GED from.

by NittanyBadger on Nov 10, 2008 1:02 PM EST reply actions

This is why the SEC is the best conference

Big Ten fans would just get into a fist fight where slow fat guys try to grind out the win. SEC fans are fast, and can defend with lightning quickness. It don’t get any faster than whipping out a shotgun to contain a handgun offensive in your own territory.

Wow

So much for cordiality after a win.

I don't know, Mello Yello is pretty awful. What's the worst that could happen?

cordiality after a win? From reading the reports it appears that the LSU fan started an argument over the phone, drove over, started a fight, and then went to pull a pistol on the Alabama fan. What would you do?

by Zoltar on Nov 11, 2008 1:48 AM EST up reply actions

Maybe I'd just...

throw a urine filled bottle at him!

I would Thank God I am not an Alabama fan.

Whew, I just did.

Wow... nice going, losers

IT’S A FOOTBALL GAME, PEOPLE!!! I am so glad my life has enough in it to not want to die or be killed after a loss/win. This is a good example of culling the herd.

its like that in the blogs too

The blogs I have been reading on sports illustrated and espn.com are sooooo full of “people” who really seem to seriously hate each other. Its really B.S. for these people to get so worked up about teenagers playing football. I think its one thing to be loyal and proud, but this year we seem to have more hateful people. I like this website because even though we slip sometimes, you all seem to have respect for fans from all schools and a realistic perspective that these are just kids and they sometimes have a bad day. I’m all for the playoffs because that system might cut down on the escalating mudslinging and tone of hatred and anger for teams they actually know nothing about.

I'm not sure how many cans of Beast it takes to shoot someone, but....

Jersey City (NJ) councilman Steve Lipski can tell you how many it takes to pee on a crowd. I’m sure y’all saw this? What an embarrassment. http://www.inquisitr.com/7775/steve-lipski/
The best part? The idiots in NJ will re-elect this moron.

Here in happy valley...

Here in merry old Happy Valley, we just try to turn Beaver Canyon into the first level of hell, we don’t resort to murder. Only the South could produce two people so stupid as to kill over a football game. This isn’t an attack on anyone from the South persay, I mean if you’re reading (or able to read) this blog or be a PSU fan, you’ve obviously passed some sort of mental aptitude test.

I saw that..

a bit of preemptive ass kissing at the end there in case them Duke Boys could get that Chevette running long enough to get near your spot and chase you ’round with they scattergun…

not that I don’t blame you…. :)

Not just the SEC, baby

That link is not for the faint of heart, its almost more extreme as the shooting.

The best part is that neither guy had even gone to Texas or Oklahoma.
