Am I the first one?
I just noticed this on espn.com's front page, the very first thing that jumps out at you from the worldwide leader's website: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/columns/story?columnist=forde_pat&page=dash0811&sportCat=ncf
It sickens me mostly because I'm a Penn State fan, and the thought that a nationally known writer gets so much joy out of my favorite team's title hopes ending just seems wrong. He's jumping around and dancing like an idiot over Penn State's loss like he just won $1000000.
It sickens me that he calls the Big Ten "overmatched, overrated and outdated". And it especially pisses me off that after talking like that, he goes on to talk about the "big boy leagues" like we're the f'n Moutain West or something.
It pisses me off again that he calls Michigan State the one "overachiever" of the Big Ten, despite admittedly only knowing that the preseason top 3 of the conference included neither Penn State nor Michigan State.
It pisses me off that, even if we beat Michigan State, it will go largely unnoticed by this idiot and other even though he just named them the overachiever of the league.
Sorry for the repetition, because I know we just got done blasting Forde last week (with a huge assist from the Iowa blog), but I just saw this and I had to vent. I probably should've seen this article coming anyway....

Nothing you can do about it
Just have to hope we can go to the Rose Bowl and shut him up by putting a beatdown on USC.
It would also be nice if some of our Big Ten brothers could win a few games outside of the conference too. We’re going to keep seeing articles like this until things turn around. But you’re right. I’m still looking for a similar article that describes the ACC or Big East in a similar manner.

Nope, I beat ya by an hour and a half ;-)
F Pat Forde and his steak knives
but I agree, I am quite pissed at his jackassery. He and Mark May can go and enjoy their masturbatory comments.
I wish I could get paid to write articles like, “Pat Forde will die and old, lonely man, having achieved nothing of significance in his life” and then do a little dance of joy when my “prediction” comes true.
I was waiting for your "jimbo's big eats" section
where you talk about a “good” restaurant in the small college town you visited, that actually is just a hole in the wall, but hey, sometimes it has wifi!!! Then you can ask about where some player from years ago is, even though you could probably just type their name into google and find out for yourself. But you know that would require research and might actually qualify you as some sort of journalist, and we all know you want to stay as far away from that as possible.

Fraud
Forde is a fraud. He tries to write like he is Bill Simmons and appeal to tailgaters like Todd’s Taste of the Town…there is not an orginal bone in that mans body
PSU Softball
Just trash
Made me sick reading that crap. I wish people would actually look at the standings for the Big Ten, Big 12 and ESS EEE SEE.
Big 12 has 8 teams above .500. Of those 5 are 8-2 or better with 4 of the 5 in the Big 12 South.
Big 10 has 8 teams at .500 or better with 5 @ 7-3 or better.
And the ESS EEE SEE has 9 at .500 or better with 4 at 7-3 or better.
Conference records you see Big 12 and Big 10 are somewhat top heavy with each having 3 teams @ 5-1 or better with the ess eee see with 2 in that same bracket, then medocrity ensues in each conference.
Just saying there’s not really much of a records difference between the conferences, but there is by far a media perspective bias. Just wait and watch OU get spanked again in a bowl game. Maybe then we can hear that the Big 12 is overrated.
I just saw the ESPN cover page
and if that doesn’t light a fire under this team’s @ss I don’t know what will.
It may be out of line...
So many innocent people have gotten and died from horrible diseases like Ebola, small pox, and rabies, why don’t people like Pat Forde ever get something like that? Can anyone send him a raccoon or something? I would like him to feel the pain that he causes me by gleefully rubbing lemons into the cuts in my arm called Minnisota, Michigan, and the new one, Iowa.
out of line
but made me laugh with the image of him opening a box and a rabid raccoon jumping out at him ;-)

I've gone cold turkey on SI and ESPN
It’s the only way to cope.
I don’t watch espn on TV. I don’t read the magazines. I don’t check out their sites on the internets.
I’m really in a much better place now.
lol that was basically my approach
and then I wanted to check something non-PSU related and that was on their front page.
(in Seinfeld saying “Newman!!!” voice): FORDE!!!!

This tops it all
As for the retarded “A.P.B.” piece he does at the end of every article…well…in this one, he is looking for Boston College kicker David Gordon from 1993. If you need icing on your cake-of-proof that this guy is a complete waste of skin, look no further. On Saturday night during the ND-BC game, David Gordon was on the sidelines, and for 10 f’ing minutes in the 3rd quarter the sideline reporter interviewed him and there was an in-game piece about him and the kick that beat #1 Notre Dame in ‘93. THE F’&#@ING GAME WAS ON ESPN!!!!!! NO ONE TOLD HIM??? HE OBVIOUSLY DOESN’T WATCH GAMES, THATS WHAT HE JUST TOLD US. CAPS LOCK CAPS LOCK CAPS LOCK. WHAT KIND OF JACKASS….UGH NEVERMIND.
