Polls: Nothing To See Here
Penn State, and everyone else, stayed relatively stagnant in all of the major human polls. Penn State gained slightly on USC in the AP, but nothing short of a Trojan loss is going to put Penn State ahead.
Paterno remains behind Utah in the Coaches Poll, which isn't really an issue except why is USC ahead of them? I think I know the answer to that. Also, it probably doesn't matter.
The Harris continues to look a lot like the AP, first place Florida vote and all. Mississippi beat Louisiana-Monroe to improve to 6-4.
Sagarin has me all confused for the second straight week. Penn State holds at #10 in his PC 'ELO_CHESS' rating. Behind such teams as Utah, Oklahoma State and, this one is fun: Georgia.
Apparently Jeff's computer doesn't mind being mocked: the ACC remains the second highest ranked conference in his formula.
Random Update: Penn State has opened as 11 point favorites against Michigan State. [Another Update: The line looks like it will actually rest closer to 14.5]

Yay...
we didn’t lose ground. I am surprised Florida isn’t #1 after dismantling and piling on a (cough… overrated) uSC east OMG ESS EEE CEE team.

My whole family
was born and raised in Pa. My Buckeye wife has a huge family that stretches down into Tenn and Ky. I am all alone and severely outnumbered but it makes for fun conversations at family gatherings

We're #4!?!
Maybe even more surprising, Sagarin has us ranked 4th only behind Florida, Texas, and USC in his “Predictor” ratings. This means that if Penn State plays anyone else at a neutral site, Texas would be a pick ’em, USC and UF would be 5.5 pt favorites, and PSU would be no less than a FG favorite against everyone else.
According to his calculations, we would be 17.5 pt favorites against Michigan State. (95.15 – 80.50 = 14.65 pt favorite at neutral site, then add 3.04 for home field advantage)
