White Out this weekend?
I know they declare all-stadium White Outs before the season, but any chance there might be one this weekend?
But the way some weather reports are looking, we may have a white out from the sky. Which can be pretty exciting in itself. In the past, how has the grounds grew at Beaver Stadium with snow? I can't remember a significant amount of snow during a Penn State game at home, anyone remember any?

Doubt it
You can do whiteouts in September and even maybe October, but it’s too cold in November. Everyone has a white T-shirt or jersey they can wear. Not many people have white coats.
The 1995 Michigan game had about 18 inches of snow two days before the game. There was a game against I think Northwestern in 95 or 96 that had some steady flurries through the game.

Good Times
Both those games were awesome. ’95 Michigan was a win AND JoePa had to come over to the student section to get people to stop pelting Jack Arute with snowballs.
The 96 Northwestern game actually had minor accumulation and ended in stadium wide choruses of “overrated” as we took down a top 10 NW team en route to the Fiesta Bowl.

I think there is
I got a facebook message today from one of the football groups for a student section white out. Most of the people in the student section will wear white over top of their coats I’d assume.

Dear God
I got it too and it’s ridiculous. White outs shouldn’t be used FOUR times throughout the football season. It’s going to lose it’s meaning if we keep doing it almost every game. I haven’t seen signs around campus or anything yet and the cheerleaders weren’t telling the students to wear white like after the last one so I’m not sure if this isn’t just some idea from Facebook groups. Students should be able to get up for a game without a whiteout.

Absolutely agree
Well said. This is just a movement from the semi-educated penn state student football fans who don’t realize the fact that you can have too much of a good thing.

I got it too
But I think it was just for students. It doesn’t really bother me if it’s a student white out, since the usually wear white anyway, barring downpours/blizzards of course. Then again, I’m sure you’d still see the nut-case drunk off his mind without a shirt and painted white.

whiteout
I think if the students could do it, a whiteout in a snow storm might be cool. Just throw a big t-shirt over a coat or (grow a pair) go shirtless while painting yourself all white.

Student Section white out is enough
It’s not like this is a prime time game for a spot in the MNC… Besides, it’s always fun to see the bright orange hunting suits scattered throughout the stadium. LOL

Snowstorm
I remember back about ’63 for the Maryland game, it was a georgous autum morning around the end of October and 50 degrees. At game time it was around 35 and windy with it starting to snow in the 2nd quarter and in the 3rd you could not see the far side of the stadium. Accumulated around 6 inches, tough sledding to get out of the grassy parking lots and miserable foggy drive hime. PSU won 63 to 17 or something like that…GREAT DAY
