JoePa Hip Surgery Scheduled
I heard from a very reliable source (for the sake of this post we will call him/her Deep Throat) that JOEPA HAS HIP SURGERY SCHEDULED FOR THIS MONDAY, NOVEMBER 24TH.
You may have heard the rumors that his wife has asked the family to come into town for this weekends game because he is going to retire. It is true that she has asked the family to come into town, but not for a retirement, but because he will have the surgery.
He feels that if he has it done immediately, he will have almost six full weeks to recover before the bowl game, and then he plans on hitting the recruiting trail pretty hard.
As for Joe retiring after this season, my source says that there is 0% chance that he will unless something goes radically wrong with his surgery/health. He plans to coach at least 2 more years, and apparently after the season that they have had Graham Spanier has given up trying to force him out and will allow him to coach until he is ready to step down.
So the story is Joe Won't Go.......and I am so happy about it!!!!!

I'm with ya on that one
With the last 4 successful seasons (define success any way you’d like (06-07)), and knowing that there’s a very good young group of players, there’s no reason we won’t be able to bring in some top recruits (and I mean TOP) in the next two seasons, setting us up for at least one more serious nat’l title run in the next 4 years. Joe knows that, which is why he’ll hang on as long as he can. Not only does he think he’ll die if he hangs it up, but he knows that this program is primed for it. His head would explode if he left and then we won one.
Pryor
Let’s also hope that all the talent we have, even though we lose our O-line this year, that we continue to make Pryor’s life a nightmare, I would certainly like to have a collage of four pictures of him crying like a baby on the OSU bench for every year he’s there.

I'd like that as well
I honestly don’t have anything against the kid, and he made the decision that was best for him. I wish him all the success against any team not Penn State. But I would definitely like to see a collage like that for the 4 Penn State games he plays.

I Have Something Against Him
Prior said “No” to Joe Paterno. That shows a lack of class and character.
I hope he stays 10 more years and wins 10 more NC's

Joe to hit recruiting trail hard after surgery
I hope Joe’s surgery goes very well and he recovers more quickly than expected. But, hitting the recruiting trail hard? What is that, visiting two recruits this winter? I will believe it when I see it.

yup
that would be hitting it “hard” in comparison. But hey, if he visits even 1 or 2 TOP recruits, just think of the message that it sends to them, and how much we want/need them. I don’t know if any other school has that weapon (the once every few seasons recruit by the best coach in college football history) in their recruiting arsenal.
