Around SBN: Steve McNair Found Shot to Death

in other big ten rivalries,

do we want michigan or osu to win?

If OSU wins,  since they're regarded as our toughest opponent of the season, it makes us look better....

However if Michigan gets the upset, we don't share the big ten title! I'm guessing we go for this one...

also, does the rose bowl choose us over ohio state because we won the head to head, or because they were there more recently than us, or both?

Since the outcome means nothing for us

Go Michigan!

If we win we go to the Rose Bowl. End of story. If we lose we’re probably looking at the Capital One Bowl. MSU would finish ahead of us, but I think we’re a more attractive team. We haven’t been to the Cap One in a long time.

If PSU/tOSU both lose....

If Michigan and Michigan State both win, then MSU will be the conference champ (and go to the Rose) and PSU would either be an at large to the BCS or go to the Citrus Bowl. FWIW. That would be an interesting scenario, completely different from how things looked a few weeks ago.

I hope they both lose...

longshot, to be sure… but I just hate them both like that…

If you can smile when things go wrong, you have someone in mind to blame.

We go to the Rose

because of the head to head. That “longest since” is a lot further down the list and usually only gets applied in three or four way ties.

I think I'd rather Ohio State

Beating Ohio State would be big for Michigan fans. I’d rather their misery continue through the offseason.

True

But losing to a bad Michigan team (at home, no less!) and losing out on a Big Ten championship would be crushing for tOSU fans. Personally, I see it as Michigan fans already having an awful season and this win wouldn’t redeem that, but tOSU has much more to lose today.

That said, I don’t see the Buckeyes losing.

As stated elsewhere

It’s a tough one this year, but I’m going with my gut and will root for stray asteroids to hit the stadium.
