Four years from now

Four years ago we won a big ten title and thought the team was on the rise and destined to do more of the same, clearly they have. Where will this team be four years from now, I think one more big ten title at least and contending every season. Tough to know how everyone else will shake out but we all thought we were back after ’05 the ensuing years have proven that, hopefully now that we have been a regular contender for the big ten title we will once again become a regular national title contender. Just a thought. Oh and sick day for all!

Adam Rittenberg

Anyone else think that ESPN’s big ten blogger needs to get off his knees in columbus and be in Happy Valley for the team that is actually winning the big ten title, what an idiot going to a meaningless osu game when this game had so much more on the line for both teams. Typical media buying into ohio state- michigan bull

by GiveitToRoyster on Nov 22, 2008 6:29 PM EST reply actions

I'd agree, BUT

In all his blogs thus far, he’s rated PSU better than OSU consistently since the 2nd week of the season. I think he’s a pretty straight-up guy.

SIREN ALERT!!!

this just in!!!

http://footballrecruiting.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?pr_key=88301&Sport=1

we have guy #1 for the 2010 class! A 6’1" 205 LB/RB from Canonsburg, Pa. Many regard this dude as a 5 star recruit at OLB. (If you were wondering… he’s a legacy player, as well… no relation to Josh, as far as I know)

“Hull’s father and uncle played football for Penn State. He earned first team all-conference honors as a freshman and sophomore and totaled more than 200 tackles in each of his first two years. On offense, he rushed for more than 1,300 yards and 14 touchdowns as a sophomore.”

NIcceee

Mike Hull goes to my high school alma mater. Its awesome to see someone from my small town of canonsburg go somewhere. I’m not sure I’d regard him as a 5 star linebacker. The kid has skills thats for sure and is fun to watch play, but his size isn’t the best. When I see him around, I always think he’s too short, not to mention that he’ll have to add on another 20-25 lbs to play linebacker. Perhaps they would put him at safety?

by Jake Bertalotto on Nov 22, 2008 10:00 PM EST up reply actions

yeah, a lot of other teams

might have folded the tents up after that missed PAT. And Stroughter is a straight-up beast.

And I think the reason OrSU is getting no rematch love around here is exactly that. It’s a rematch. PSU has nothing to gain from playing OrSU again, and a ton to gain from kicking the crap out of that smug, overrated bunch of Song Girls.

Don’t take it personal, Jake and all the other OrSU fans who’ve been hanging around. If you win the Civil War, you deserve to play in the Rose Bowl just like we do. Simple as that.

by WarBird on Nov 22, 2008 10:01 PM EST reply actions

You think we're getting screwed?

How about Ohio State. If Oregon State goes to the Rose Bowl, USC will likely get Ohio State’s at large bid and the Buckeyes will be going to the Capital One.

by BSD on Nov 22, 2008 10:02 PM EST up reply actions

I hate the bowl system

horrible. Sh*tty matchups abound every year… The teams everyone wants to play each other never do. GAWD!!

What’s left for Oregon St? Any chance of losing?

by WarBird on Nov 22, 2008 10:05 PM EST up reply actions

will you give them a break already?

that is NOT a bad football team… we play by the BCS system we are given and I hate hearing the hate thrown at OrSt. Those people have loved us on here since day one and who cares if we play USC or them? what good does it do us? It’s not like we can hope for final rankings to vault us to #1 after the bowls have been played so give em some respect.

If you can smile when things go wrong, you have someone in mind to blame.

by TheMightyErik on Nov 22, 2008 10:15 PM EST up reply actions

Oregon State

They still have to play Oregon next week, so it’s not a lock yet.

I would rather play USC, but I wouldn’t mind playing Oregon State again. I’m sure they would give us a better matchup on a neutral field. And they are a much better team now than the one we played earlier this year. If they win the PAC-10 championship they deserve to play in the game just as much as we do.

What’s really going to suck is seeing OSU play an SEC team in the Capital One bowl. I’m guessing it will probabaly be Georgia. We all know how well tOSU does against the SEC. MSU will be interested in Oregon State too. If they beat Oregon, MSU is probably looking at the Outback Bowl. If the Beavers lose, MSU is probably looking at the Cap One.

Is it safe to say

That Charlie Weis got outcoached by Greg Robinson? Awesome.

by ReadingRambler on Nov 22, 2008 10:41 PM EST up reply actions

Weis is done

There was talk about firing him after getting shut out by Boston College, the other Catholic school. Last week he almost lost to Navy for the second time in two years after the Irish beat them 43 years in a row before that.

Now he loses to one of the worst teams in Div I. They were 20 point favorites at home and they choked. Now they’ll get plastered by USC next week. Don’t listen to the crap about the $20 million buyout being Charlie’s job security. $20 million is chump change to Notre Dame. He’ll be fired after the season.

by BSD on Nov 22, 2008 10:51 PM EST up reply actions

stay classy, ND student section…

http://tinyurl.com/6xrsjb

Notre Dame players pelted by snowballs

“Fans at first threw snow in the air, but then quickly switched to tossing snowballs toward the Notre Dame sideline. Defensive lineman Ian Williams got hit in the helmet, defensive end Ethan Johnson was struck on the left cheek and a St. Joseph County police officer on the sideline looking into the crowd got hit in the chest. An NBC camera man also was a frequent target and several snowballs reached the field, although none landed near where play was occurring.”

by lendamico on Nov 23, 2008 12:07 AM EST up reply actions

Notre Dame is just the Glory Gang hanging on to their laurels

Not only do I hope they fire Weis, but that NBC drops their television contract and forcing them to joins the Big East; then never making it above top 5 in the conference. The university is simply despicable.
