He is an offensive genius
in that he has incredible powers of being offensive in pretty much any way imaginable.

Lou Holtz
I also love the fact that the introduction is written by Lou Holtz. Perhaps it contains several delusional predictions.

Really funny how delusional the ND fans continue to be.
Some general highlights from what I’ve read:
1. ND will be really really good next season. The team is really young and is about to come into their own. 10 or 11 wins next season. Book it.
2. The NBC contract is NOT in perile — people love watching ND even when they struggle to be bowl eligible.
3. ND is the biggest game on their opponent’s schedule for every team they play, that’s why they struggle against teams like Navy and Syracuse, those teams are on an emotional high for ND.
4. Charlie Weis is a great coach, he’s a super intelligent man, and is destined to lead this team to greatness. He is just so brilliant. God, just listen to his press conferences, he’s just so friggin smart, I mean… wow.
5. If Weis doesn’t lead them to greatness, it’s just because all the other NCAAF programs cheat by allowing redshirt years and looser academic standards. Those dirty rotten cheaters. And Ty Willingham, that bastard screwed us, it’s his fault.
6. We all knew we weren’t going to be great this season, we aren’t delusional, no one seriously thought we’d win 9 games. I never said that, you must be mistaken. Nope, I never said that, LA LA LA LA LA I CAN’T HEAR YOU.

actually some of those points are really valid
since I do enjoy watching ND struggle to be bowl eligible. When it comes to ratings, ND is a big draw, since not only do they have a huge, irrational fanbase, but they also have a huge, irrational anti-fanbase.
As for ND being the biggest game for some of those teams…valid point sometimes. I think Navy cares more about Army, though.
Nobody is disbuting Charlie Weis’ greatness (oh…what’s that? by greatness you didn’t mean his size? oh…well then I have no idea what you are talking about)
Does ND not allow redshirts? I never knew that. If true, it would be a disadvantage for them, but hardly cancelled out by all the advantages they have going for them.
Any ND fan that doesn’t think they’ll be great every season is a liar. They are, as we all know, delusional with those claims, though.

I agree with you
I mean, most of that is probably true — but what I find funny is that a top tier, mega-successful NCAAF program has to rationalize why they’ve playing so poorly.
Despite always recruiting well, having an ex-NFL coordinator for a HC, a ridiculously easy schedule, and one of the largest fanbases in the country, somehow Ty Willingham is still responsible for their 6-6 season.

Re: Notre Dame redshirt
This is kind of a load of crap, they don’t redshirt, I guess, but do allow kids a 5th year if they graduate in four and take grad courses…something that always seems to go very smoothly for their better kids that need a 5th year of football.

how does that work, though?
is this if they didn’t play one of the years, so they go back and say that was a redshirt year?

You just can't get that kind of value for gag gifts.
It’ll be the best 54 cents you ever spent. Might have to buy a few myself.
