The second incident was more of a drunken, philosophical debate over which of two colleges that haven't played each other is the better team.

A 25-year-old Penn State fan said he was slapped in the face several times by a "big guy" who claimed Georgia is better.

The two strangers were sharing a taxi on Palmetto Bay Road at 2:45 a.m. Sunday, according to the report.

It needs to be placed in context.

UGA fan: “Georgia is better.”

PSU fan: “I must be in a dream. It’s 2:45 in the morning so I must have completely nodded off. You think Georgia team that got destroyed by Florida and barely made it passed a terrible Auburn team is better than Penn State? I must be in an f-ing dreamland! Why don’t you slap me out of my dream state?”

UGA fan: * slap *

PSU fan: OK, thanks. For a moment there I had fallen to sleep and thought you said UGA was better than the Nittany Lions.

UGA fan: I think they are.

PSU fan: SLAP ME AGAIN!

When I went to the Sugar Bowl after the '82 season, we were driving in NO...

We get to a red light & one of the guys in the car next to us, which is adorned woth all sorts of Georgia sihns, sees that we are Penn State fans. He starts yelling stuff about how they’re going to beat us in the game & Hershal Walker is so great, etc. Just as the light turns green, my friend in the front seat of our vehicle turns to them and says “No Inglés. No Inglés.” or something that made it seem we didn’t speak any English. Then we drove off. We all broke out laughing.

For some reason I love this story. Apropos of not sure what, but definitely funny. Gawd, that woulda been a great game to have this bitch slap discussion with a Georgia fan about.

2 things

1) the Michigan fan pushes the Michigan State fan (who was shouting profanities), and the MSU player is arrested for foul language? WTFuck? (I only spelled it out in protest of ridiculous profanity laws)

2) As for “not taking it” I don’t think I’d fight back or necessarily hit the other guy, but I definitely would not allow him to slap me around. I’d probably just restrain him or his hands.

Wait a minute...

The Michigan State fan was arrested for yelling profanity….from the back of the patrol car? How did he get in the back of the patrol car before being arrested??? The cop went about arresting the man while he was already in the patrol car?

There is a person in this country that thinks Georgia is better than Penn State???

my guess

the drunken MSU fan was actually being very belligerent, and a scuffle may have occured after the Michigan fan pushed him. They probably separated both of them and placed the MSU fan in the patrol car while they questioned the Michigan fan, and vice versa…not that I have any experience in such events….
