Happy Thanksgiving!
Thanks to all of you for making this season even more memorable. Here's to a great day -- may your turkey be delicious and your football compelling.
Let's just call this an open thread for Turkey Day football and horror stories from the kitchen.

We're making a tofurkey. That's right.
Along with a 20 lb. turkey and some other more traditional stuff. The tofurkey usually comes with stuffing and a fake tofu jerky wishbone, but the lovely and talented future Mrs. RUTS only got the “loaf” itself.
(And no, the “loaf” is not me. Not in this context, at least.)

Awesome
As one of the people in American who has to work on Thanksgiving, I will be in the office most of the afternoon. Probably longer now that I can schedule at least an hour and a half of playing that game. Syracuse? Seriously?

Happy Thanksgiving!
Everyone and thanks to Mike (and his hot wife), RUTS, and Kevin for all their hard work. I’ll be back after the turkey induced coma! Go Eagles! (not like it’s going to matter)
Happy Thanksgiving Penn State fans!
Hope everything is going well for all y’all out there on the East Coast.
Take care and we’ll see you on New Years :-)
Oregon State: where play action defense and healthy QBs thrive
I don't recall that game
Was Iowa even on our schedule this year?

We just needed a couple players, a couple people to buy in to the fact and we were able to do it. --A.Q. Shipley
I thought we just scrimmaged the Steelers on a neutral site?

i know not
of this team called “Io-wa”.
And quite frankly, the state sounds a little made up IMO.

I do not give any team or state
that has three vowels and only one consonant in its four letter name any real consideration whatsoever. Your naming is not only an affront to games of Scrabble but has given birth to ridiculous and moronic crowd chants throughout history.

Happy Turkey-day everyone!
Hope you all have gorged yourselves accordingly. Here’s to a TAMU upset to make the day complete!
Lookie...an open thread...
Which means I have a perfect place for a rant.
NHL.com did an article on the ACHA – the “club” level that our DI Icers participate in. Now, the article itself is well written and paints an amazing image of the ACHA. One that makes me very happy to know that I was actively helping and working with during my four years working for the Icers. One qualm – no mention whatsoever of Penn State.
(http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=394182 – The article, for those possibly interested.)
Don’t get me wrong – I wasn’t expecting the entire article to be about us. They wanted to give a broad picture of the league to show its depth and growth, in spite of the lack of funding (and respect) that it is given. I’m cool with that. But no mention of Penn State (or Illinois – another big school program that just won it’s second championship in the past 5 years). No mention of one of the other major founders of the league – Joe Battista – who worked within the Pens system in coaching and scouting for a few years prior to returning to Penn State to coach. No mention of a program that just came out of a “decade of dominance” – 10 straight years of appearing in the National Championship game.
Props to the teams mentioned/interviewed. Some of these programs are indeed mainstays (Iowa State, Arizona, Rhode Island); some are programs I’ve been able to watch grow and be able to field strong teams in just a few years (Oklahoma and Lindenwood come to mind). And while I’ve never had the opportunity to meet the man, I’ve only heard wonderful things about Al Murdoch.
But seriously – not even a mention? I just don’t get it…
+1.... fuggin A... thanks for the work, Icersguy!
