Student tickets ?

Anyone know if you will need to use student ID to get into the Rose Bowl if I buy student tickets?  I already have a set of tickets arranged with the Rose Bowl package but am thinking that If I buy a set of student tickets for $145 each I can bring them out with me for a BSD'er to purchase at face value.  But if they ask for student ID at the door the way do at Beaver Stadium I am just basically wasting my money.  This is assuming I can even get tickets since there aren't that many available.

You're fine

In the eyes of the Rose Bowl, there are just “TICKETS”. They make no distinction of student vs. other. PSU receives a block of tickets for every away game, and they set aside a small number for the students. They’ll make students show id to buy them, but once you own them, the tickets all look/feel/act alike.

One thing to consider – the student tickets might let you sit by other students, but likely won’t be better seats than the alumni tix. Case in point was Ohio State – the student ticket allotment was in the farthest corner of the stadium, while alums had much better seats.

Glad to hear you’ll be at the game supporting the Lions!

RE OSU

I was right in front of the student section…wouldn’t really consider that much better ;-)

As for tickets in general for the Rose Bowl, I am currently looking for 1 or 2 tickets. Everyone basically bailed on me for this one so it looks like I’m going alone. The girlfriend decided she did want to spend New Years/her birthday in SoCal, so I’ll have a travel buddy, but she has no interest in the game (hence why I only need 1, but willing to buy 2 if available).

I am willing to buy regular seats, students seats, whatever. All my potential contacts fell through, and I’m waiting to hear back on my “last” chance before resorting to finding it on stubhub/ebay/craigslist/here

Im a Student

43 yr. old (late bloomer?) and I knew my alumni tickets would be better but just willing to try to help 2 more BSD’ers out if I can manage to get them.

You are the man...

I went ahead and bit the bullet last night and shelled out for my single in section 21L row 35. People got me scared about good seats going fast or for higher down the road…. blah blah blah… So I jumped in with both feet. Now we just need to figure out how to organize a tailgate and all. See you kids on the 1st!

where'd you get it from?

I’m about to book my flight today, and I don’t yet have tickets to the game. Also, anyone know what sections are good for Penn State?

Sections 13-24 are set up as our 'side' so go for that sideline

I went through StubHub… and I will be kinda sore for some time… I got the single but it actually wasn’t that bad at $300.

For a good site that previews your row/seat with an actual view go here:
http://www.tickets.ucla.edu/map/rosebowl.html

Most tickets on SH only have the row and not actual seat# as they are fan tics. Good luck and one of us will have to put up a thread calling for a ‘roll call’ to see where we will be in relation to each other and how we should go about our tailgating plans. SEE YOU GUYS THERE! :D

I'm ready

Should know by Saturday Noon whether I got student tickets or not. Will repost the offer then. If no one on here needs them I will just sell them when I get to LA. Oh and I’m definately there for the tailgate.

MODS!!!!

I think we need a ticket exchange post for this game. No reason anyone needs to pay $300 on StubHub when there’s a great chance the NLC will have extra tickets available in the PSU section….. especially when Rockin has them to sell & Erik was looking to buy.

Let’s get organized here, people.

Hey Rockin'

My friends and I planning on doing the same thing. Any thoughts on where they are going to sell them? Despite all of the places we’ve thought of, we’re thinking that it will be the BJC. We figure they don’t want to go through the hassle of selling them somewhere else, and are just really concerned with kids camping out. Regardless we plan on having people stationed by the Hub and Rec Hall just in case.

Also, do you think we’ll be able to save spots in line? Say my friend gets in line before I do. Will I be able to jump in line with him since I want to sit together?

RMC50

Is there a way to email each other through the site? If not throw me an email at lvw10@psu.edu If spot saving is allowed and I there first I will have a spot saved for you. If we get a bunch of BSD’ers sitting together we definately gotta have t-shirts. Hell we need t-shirts for the tailgate!

My plans

Im planning on getting dropped off at BJC at 5:30. I figure that will either sell them there or over at the stadium. Hopefully if they are at the stadium there won’t be people injured in the mad stampede. Not sure about the saving in line. Never purchased as a student before. Will investigate by asking some of my friends that buy a lot of events about the saving a spot. I just hope I can get some tickets.
