My Opinion of Maurice Evans
After his much publicized incident at the beginning of the season, I must say so far so good. He lost his starting job and still has not got it back.....although it is quite possible that he lost it for good to Mayhem. I have heard no blame game, no whining, no news at all as a matter of fact. This to me shows Evans maturity. He has matured and I feel will be one of the leaders of the team next year. Hopefully my judgement is not wrong. I can't believe that Bradley would not have Maybin and Evans on opposite sides of the line at the same time next year. They will be playing pinball all game long on the opposing offenses.

He will have it back next year
Because Maybin is going pro.

really, I had not heard that elsewhere. Fact or wild speculation?

I would doubt it
based on sources close to maybin

Speaking of going pro...
….I was reading an article on Rivals.com that mentioned that Bowman may also go pro. Is that possible, I thought he was a true Soph, not a RS soph.
Any rumors on that?
WE ARE.......PENN STATE!
Bowman
He’s had one good year, he could boost his draft stock like crazy with another good year. I’ve only heard him talked about in the draft by that one source so I seriously doubt it.
I bet they both come back.
I don’t have any info on this, but I really think they stand a lot more to gain than to lose by coming back next year, especially Bowman.
well they stand to lose a lot of money by coming back
since the NFL collective bargaining agreement will start counting signing bonuses against the salary cap starting after next year, so I’d imagine those bonuses will shrink down in size. incentive for a lot of guys to go pro (but that holds true for guys all over the country, so the competition might be higher this year than most)

Agree
I think they both come back. Especially Bowman, who I don’t think would go all that highly in the drft this eyar and has much more to gain by staying another season.
I’m a bit skeptical that Maybin would go so high as to warrant coming out as well, but I could see that as more possible. And the draftniks do seem to rate him highly.
All this talk of going Pro
I love when our kids go to the NFL, I love when they’re drafted high, so by all means I’m not complaining.
But I’m disturbed by the idea that whenever one of our guys has a stand-out season he immediately flys off to the pros. As soon as we fall in love with one of these kids he’s already off to the NFL. It’s a major problem in NCAA hoops I hope we don’t have in NCAAF.
Only time will tell, but I believe Bowman and Maybin will be back next season.
no disrepect to those kids
But I think they may need another year to get them higher on the draft board. I haven’t seen where they are projected but I think they could be 1st rounders with one more year but that is not exactly my area of expertise
