I think you’ll find it here. I was not the one who originally discovered it, though, so don’t give me credit.

Nebraska
faces a juggernaut.
Four AVCA All-American first teamers.
109 straight sets going back to last season.
62 wins in a row.
But we have Omaha.

No kidding
The national championship game last year was what got me to upgrade to a 42"LCD TV, I couldn’t see the ball on my crappy 10 year old 30 inch TV and it seems like yesterday. GO PENN STATE.

Awesome the game finally started.

Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.
they've
stopped calling double hits this year.

i'm guessing
you guys don’t watch much VB, but this is the sport being played at an amazingly high level.

These girls are enormous.
I have a friend from Denver who is a huge Nebraska fan, and she was giving me shit via text message last night. You have to love Nebraska fans. If the NCAA sanctioned watching grass grow as a sport, you’d have to think that Nebraska would fill a stadium with 85,000 people to watch it.

And I should add...
…I love Nebraska fans. I watched a UNL-OU game at a bar with about 200 of them back in ’05. Bad game, fun times. And I even started one of the “gooooooo biiiiiiiiiiig reeeeeeeeeeed” cheers.

Eh....
I guess it’s like if Michigan State made the Final Four this year. Not much you can do about it.
the Final Four
is pre-seleted every year.
As are the four regional sites.
but they’re typically at sites where they’re going to sell tickets.

What I meant was...
I don’t know if PSU fans would be this intense about it. But, you never know. Put the final four in State College and it’d probably be nuts.
PSU
is amazing.
Digging everything in sight. No wonder no one can score against them (insert your own jokes).

She's a menace.
I can’t pretend to have seen more than ten minutes of women’s volleyball this season, but damn. She is a good one.

Anything for a tiny piece of revenge for 1994, perhaps?
by Run Up The Score on Dec 18, 2008 10:29 PM EST up reply actions
Nah
I wasn’t a PSU fan in 1994. I’ve just really gotten into this team.
In fact…who the hell was I fan of in 1994?
Those were the D.J. Dozier years
Have you ever seen Vinny Testeverde and Osama in the same place? Exactly.
(I have no idea what that means.)

Nah
He attacked the World Trade Center towers 1 and 2 in 1993… well he didn’t, but you know.
I think they were training him back in like… 1979.. sometime during the Carter administration when we also propped up Saddam Hussein.
How about the roots of Hezbollah or the PLO?
I don't think they ever trained him
Sure, they trained the Mujahideen when Ivan invaded Afghanistan, but bin Laden didn’t get anything from the Pakistani intelligence, and by extension, us. He came to the Pakis, but they kinda blew him off.
I don’t know the hell a volleyball thread turned into me arguing about this.
Throw it to Zug!

well
I think everybody knows we needed to take the first set to win this thing.
We came back against Washington on their home court last week, down 0-2, then down 9-3 in the fifth set, and coming back from that is unheard of, but unless PSU suddenly has fainting spells, that’s not happening tonight.

FYI
The regionals have been selected over the past couple years with an effort focused on ticket sales, but also keeping traveling to a minimum to cut down on expenses.
Final Four in Nebraska – the NCAA knows that Nebraskans will buy tons of tickets whether our team is in it or not. Call it a College World Series influence. There’s been talk about making it permanent in Omaha, but that would really be an unfair advantage for us, as we rarely lose in Nebraska.

And again, I must say
Nebraska kind of rocks for a giant rectagularish Plains state. We’ve been pulled over there twice. No tickets, super nice cops. I’ve stayed in Bugaha and Grand Island. I dig their silly little museum that stretches over I-80. And the meth? Sweetest in the land.

No more jump serve from Fawcett
Doesn’t surprise me – you service error multiple times, you’re gonna leave the riskier serving to the experts.
Okay, let's get this coach away from a microphone.
He’s excruciatingly boring.

A generic conceptual term for the vehicle or conveyance used to get to work or school after a late night of partying, especially when accompanied by a hangover.

University of Nebraska
Most underratedly hot women in the USA. PSU-NU in Lincoln was the best road trip not involving a Penn State win.
Love the PSU women. Gotta keep the streak going!
By the way
It was sure nice to see the hot Stanford chick again after a one year absence. You know – that one you saw last year at the bar when you noticed PSU and Stanford were playing for the championship.
I want to volunteer to be the person there for the team hug after every point.
What is the purpose of that hug anyway, and why can’t I benefit from it.

It's all relative
I love it when our hot-ass volleyball team does it, but when a Shane Battier or JJ Reddick led Duke team does it…CORNY
Good god man, I'm talking about college females here.

Are the Huskers forgetting they got to win two more sets after this?
"They're wearing black because they are going to a motherf-ing funeral."
PSU players are smiling, they know they got this.

they lost, but I think that run at the end was helpful…it had to scare Nebraska a little bit.
[/pretending to know what I’m talking about]
Kevin @ Black Shoe Diaries
I actually agree.
They were woozy there for a while, but seemed to have the better of the play at the end.
All your base are belong to JoePa.
if we have to drop a set
…to win the match…i’ll take the set
we still set the record for most won sets
the girls just need to calm down! too many errors that last set….
Remember last years final
We won the first two sets. Gave up the next two and looked on the ropes.
Then we came out and smashed them in the fifth set.

THIS SET IS GOING TO BE DOMINATION
"They're wearing black because they are going to a motherf-ing funeral."

Can we stop showing the camera angle from the back line? It’s 1000 times harder to follow what’s going on.
Mike

Give Nebraska a little break.
They’re still bitter Jamaal Lord’s best throw of the evening was to Richard Gardner.
Geez...
I know our rotations way too well at this point. Ream now goes out for Harmotto, who is swapped with Holehouse as the Libero…
Yeah
Wait. What? Is there actual strategy going on here? I thought they just tried to smash the ball as hard as they can?
Mike
Black Shoe Diaries
That's right Nebraska, you're going home on the struggle bus.
It’s like the short bus, but it smells bad and has gum stuck to the seats.
We just needed a couple players, a couple people to buy in to the fact and we were able to do it. --A.Q. Shipley
On the bright side...
certain members of the Nebraska football team can get you a really good deal on a used bus at the local dealerships.
All your base are belong to JoePa.
I bet we covered this
but was it just dumb luck that this was played in Nebraska?
Kevin @ Black Shoe Diaries
Or “coincidence” like when the women’s bball team got a #1 seed but then had to play against #2 UConn in Uconn.
Kevin @ Black Shoe Diaries
Zug should promise his favors to the ladies if they win.
Victory would be certain.
All your base are belong to JoePa.
Totally
They should just end it here after this game. If Nebraska wins, Stanford wins the championship. If Penn State wins, we get the title.
It’s the only fair way

Forgive me for not knowing his name.
But, kudos to his “oh, I was just doing a little math, what, we won, great, back to my math” reaction. He knew it all along.

That was honestly the first volleyball game I've ever watched
from start to finish. I was watching it and drinking beer with a few dudes and…I was actually nervous for the girls by the end of it in a way I never thought possible. I’m definitely catching the title game. What? It’s on Saturday night at 8?!! F that. Good game tho girls.
you sir are no volleyball fan, you can just go out after the game.

Friends started their bar tour, I went and saw the game against Cal, caught up with the tour after the game. One of those few ‘have your cake and eat it too’ moments.

well… kind of…. first set of our illustrious 34 bowls
