Merry Christmas to all
I unwrapped a Rose Bowl sweatshirt (the same ones the team has), among many other things (HDTV! Wooooooo).
Happy other holidays to those who celebrate those, too.
John Madden told me 90% of the game was half-mental...

happy holidays
i grabbed me a nice adidas rose bowl shirt, and a nice throwback 1982 National Champions shirt
For the glory
Happy Holidays everyone!
Merry Christmas
A Penn State car ornament, and a Penn State Fathead.
You wouldn't know they have PSU stuff
All of their commercials prominently feature a Buckeye and a Wolverine fan, but I did look them up, and they do have a few PSU things.
Merry Christmas
My parents got me a Rose Bowl sweatshirt, and my wife got some Penn State socks (the only PSU garb that she will wear). My wife also got me a Wisconsin Badgers sweatshirt. And, yes my wife is hot. Lucky me!

PSU Swag
I landed myself a Rose Bowl T-shirt, a Big Ten Champs T-shirt and a Big Ten Champs Hat.
I also got a beer making kit which I am very excited to take for a spin. But first there are a thousand kids toys that have to be removed from their boxes and supplied with batteries.

Beer making is fun, I have brewed many a batch in my day.
I like Williams brewing kits, they are consistently good.
We just needed a couple players, a couple people to buy in to the fact and we were able to do it. --A.Q. Shipley
Been doing it for about 18 months now.
I got my setup as a birthday gift two summers ago, through homebrewery.com. It’s a fun process, and at the end of five or six weeks, you can tell the world you made your own beer.
So far, I’ve made double chocolate stout, peach / cherry / strawberry wheat, some sort of spiced semi-pumpkinish stuff, a Blue Moon clone with the orange already brewed in…all kinds of stuff. I’ve stuck with the kits, but I’m eventually getting into the more complicated stuff. I really want to make a vanilla porter. The last one I had was right before I moved back to PA from Colorado.

merry x-mas to all..
Aside from Rose Bowl tickets which I already knew I was getting a couple weeks ago, I also got a Rose Bowl mug…

Merry Christmas All
I got an Evan “Rolls” Royster Nike Jersey, the good kind. As far as the other stuff, a nice Coach wallet that I’ll have to get used to, Guitar Hero to waste time in between pretending to do homework, and a camera.
I was out in the trenches, which enables me to paint such a powerful picture, like Apocalypse Now.-Cormega
Christmas Swag
My wife got me an autographed Joe Paterno mini helmet.
I got her a new PSU hoodie/yoga pants from Victoria’s Secret collegiate line.
Your wife sounds hot and merry
Throw it to Zug!

I
I didn’t get anything. But then, my birthday is in 2 weeks and I usually get gifts then. Depending on the outcome of the Rose Bowl, I’ll know how much PSU stuff I’m going to get for my birthday.
Got my ticket to the RB yesterday
That made my Christmas! Merry Christmas and happy holidays to you all!
I refuse to join any club that would have me as a member
No PSU swag for me
Although that’s probably a good thing. I have plenty. I did pick up a day of skiing with the ladyfriend and a night at this motel.

My son got a Penn State football rug for his bedroom and I framed the free “Greatest Show” freebie poster from McClanahan’s for his wall. Looks great in a frame – how do I convince the wife to put one in our bedroom?? And surprisingly, for having 4 kids, they got absolutely nothing requiring batteries!!
Rose bowl swag!?
Santa had enough frequent flier miles and decided to use them on my trip to the rose bowl and back!! it’s going to be a great trip!! Also got a Penn State trivia calendar that plays “fight on state” for my desk!! SWEET!
For the Glory of Old State
Lion Clogs
The oddest of the PSU swag we received was my pair of navy blue PSU Chipmunk Logo clogs. Other stuff included Rose Bowl shirts for the entire family including the three year old, a zipper hoodie for me, and a nightlight. My B.I.L. received the PSU equivalent of a bucket of Army men… PSU “football guys” … miniature football player figurines and a mini football field. Our non-football inspired friends that were present at this exchange just shook their heads in amazement.
I got a PSU garden gnome
…and you had BETTER believe it’s coming HV tailgating from here on out! :)
Gnome
I received one of these little guys too. He stands about 8" tall. Great idea to take him tailgating, I’m going to use that.

For the Penn Stater who has everything
I think the only PSU item I picked up this year as a gift was some Penn State tupperware. Seriously, the’ll slap a logo on ANYTHING these days.
I did get my dad a copy of the book ‘The Perfect Season’ by Mike Missinelli, which recaps the ’87 Fiesta Bowl. A great book and a MUST read for any PSU fan.

The Penn State Footbal Vault
My sister got me the Penn State Football Vault by Lou Prato. If you’re a Penn State fan and you like PSU football history, you MUST get this book. First of all, it must be the most detailed account of PSU football ever, starting with the days that the Pennsylvania Farmers High School fielded their first team, to the days of the Pink and Black, to the Rip Engle era, and finally into the days of Joe Paterno. On top of all that, it also has replicas of all sorts of PSU tickets/programs/etc from the early 1900s to the 2005 Orange Bowl.
My daughter (PSU '08)
got a ‘Stand-up Joe’, which we stuck in her bedroom while she was opening gifts. She literally jumped when she walked in and saw him from the corner of her eye. Ha.
Actually, we all flinch a bit when we walk in – probably take a few days til we become used to him standing there.
He hasn’t yet accepted the Scotch I keep offering him, but I know he’s completely concentrating on the RB right now. We’ll have that drink post-game, I’m sure.
Or maybe he’s just holding out, and waiting for me to crack the bottle of Grappa. I’ll try that tonight.

Grappa
Don’t you mean “paint thinner?” ; )
by nittanyroar on Dec 27, 2008 10:53 AM EST up reply actions
I see your point,
and raise you home-distilled Hungarian palinka. THAT stuff is paint thinner, only much stronger, and probably worse tasting. Especially if the vintage is within the past 60 days.
But yeah, NitRoar – grappa can cauterized taste buds. Not to mention brain cells and optic nerves.

I will say this Pete
Grappa is perfect for helping one digest after too big a feast, it’ll cut through anything.

Yes, she's a doll,
but 100% Pennsylvanian . The Hungarian came later, after my ex got a little out of round, and I was forced to take her out of play.
She looks great standing beside JoePa. Standing next to anyone, actually. Yeah, yeah – proud Daddy.
Anyone have a clue what year the photo for these stand-up things was taken? Joe looks pretty sporty, I must say.

Wine
Got a cool bottle of wine with a PSU vs USC label on it.

Jersey and a promise
Got an autographed Jordan Norwood Jersey and a promise from my ND fan daughter to wear PSU gear to the Rose Bowl.
You have clearly gone astray in your parenting
If any of my children become ND fans I will kindly ask them to find a new family to associate with.

i know what you mean
i gave my fiancee hell when she had a blue sweater on and a maize (she claimed it was florescent yellow) tank top underneath.
For the glory
Your fiancee
sounds hot – even when wrongly dressed.
Maybe even hotter, if EXTREMELY wrongly dressed.
Want some suggestions??

Tons of stuff
My folks came out here from State College for the holidays and brought tons of Penn State stuff for Christmans presents. I don’t remember everything but there was at least:
Penn State jackets, shorts and Christmas hats for my two sons, Rose bowl T-shirts for everyone, and a football signed by Deon Butler.
Best holiday wishes to all.
The usual...
I got a Rose Bowl hoodie and t-shirt, another sweet Penn State blanket, Penn State Uno (?! in case I ever feel like playing Uno….guess it will go along with the PSU heroes deck of cards)…..but no Rose Bowl tix :-(
This is cool
Happy to report I received this sweet Scrapbook-style book authored by Lou Prato. Very nice

Bummer
I asked for that for xmas. I guess Santa thought I wasn’t a big enough Penn State fan.

Black Shoe Diaries
Birthday?
Ask for it for your birthday, and Father’s Day, just keep asking until you get it. It has some excellent photos I’ve never seen before and of course Lou Prato. The reprinted memorabilia is pretty sweet too, some of the stuff is from as far back as the turn of the 20th century, very cool.

But still hot.
She just lost her focus for a bit.

I got him the hat and shirt, and his birthday is in a MONTH so he’s getting the freakin’ Vault book then…geesh.
Eek
I stand corrected, and properly chastened. Apologies to you, Ms. PSUWifey.
Comment was out of line, and is withdrawn.
You sound very hot when you’re defiant!
