Gbadyu Stays Home
This just in from Fight on State: Backup outside linebacker Bani Gbadyu did not make the trip to Pasadena with the team.
FightOnState.com has learned that Penn State backup linebacker Bani Gbadyu did not make the trip to Los Angeles for the Rose Bowl due to academic issues.
Academic issues, huh? As in like he's not enrolled for the spring semester? This is just speculation on my part, but a lot of times when you hear about a reserve sophomore not making the bowl trip it sometimes means they have one foot out the door. Let's hope this isn't anything big.

Devlin transfer
Maybe the Devlin transfer got him thinking? Hopefully it is just grades, because he’d be a big help to us next year
This is bad news for him
It’ll be tough for him to climb out of Joe’s doghouse with all of the LB talent we have behind him, and coming in the future. He’s quick but he didn’t dominate the field in his time out there. It’s a slight depth hit but the younger guys will fill in well.
Crap.
Clearly, he wasn’t as far along the learning curve this year as everyone thought he would be. Despite crazy athleticism, he seemed to be out of place or filling the wrong gap when he saw the field.
However, he’s still young, so here’s hoping he figures out where the library is (if grades are an issue) and continues learning on the field as well.

I wouldn't read *too* much into it.
He’s not the first guy to be left behind on a bowl trip and won’t be the last.

From what I know
It’s most likely grades. He was on the verge of being ineligible and looks like he didn’t make it.
I never like to lose a player, but....
I hated every minute of him being on the field. What good is speed if you have no instincts and can’t tackle?
