I'd say. . .

9-3 and blown out in whatever bowl.

On a related note, remember when Holtz said they were going 11-1 this year? Too funny. . .

I don't see how they can go 9-3

I think best case scenario is 7-5.

Anyway, after Fat Charlie is fired, I hope Holtz takes over as interim HC.

Yeah, 7-5 looks more like it

with losses to:
Michigan
MSU
USC
BC
Pitt

Also, what’s with the WSU game in San Antonio? Why texas?

They really wanted a neutral site game with a big-time adversary

Sadly, they picked Washington State.

Neutral site

It’s part of the new NBC deal- ND will be playing one game a year at a neutral site at least until their current TV contract is up. It’s a way for NBC to snag an eighth game every year.

God bless NBC… maybe some other network will pick up The Office when the whole network goes under in a year or two.

Fire Wannstedt and hire Mark May!

ND

I see no more than 5 or 6 wins here. When will Notre Dame swallow their pride and admit defeat, blow it all up and rebuild. I don’t know their problem, all programs have this at some point(US in 200-2004, Michigan now, miami, alabama, etc) but theirs seems different.

They have the recruits, prestige, and all of that, so they have no one to blame but themselves. Don’t give me the academic BS, it never affected them before and Northwestern was what 9-3, 8-4 this year?

I hope he stays all 10 years and they suffer.

I don’t know why they don’t pull Clausen, that guy has not developed at all as a big-time college QB. Fat Charlie has ruined any chance that kid has by throwing him to the wolves last season. Plus he looks like a damned emu.

Oohh yes!
throwing him to the wolves last season

Best. PSU. Game.

That season.

Yep

Not even QB #14’s awful pick six could taint that game.

Your taint sounds

….oh, nevermind.

Here is my prediction

Looking at that schedule I could see ND starting out 1-3. But let’s say they go 2-2 losing to Michigan State and either Michigan or Purdue on the road. That’ll be the end of Charlie right there. The wheels will be set in motion behind the scenes, and when he’s blown out 45-3 against USC they’ll pull the plug on Monday.

Mark it down. Charlie Weis will be fired on October 19, 2009. Should we start a pool?

I think they start 5-0

They’ll improve next year, just like they did this year.

Nevada’s a potential sleeper but won’t be a favorite, Michigan is going to stink again next year, Michigan State takes a step backwards, and Purdue is going to finish DFL in the Big Ten next year, Washigton sucks. Maybe they drop one of those games. 5-0

USC and BC; losses. 5-2

Washington State was the worst team in D1 this year (next to Washington), they always beat Navy. 7-2

Pitt, UConn and Stanford, they won’t lose all three, I bet they win two. 9-3
