well....
thanks for playin’ Ball State. Now I have ZERO respect for you. If you think you’re so deserving of a shot at the National Title, then why wouldn’t you take the most lucrative game possible?
As much as I hate ND, I would rather see them win…because nothing gets me more fired up than seeing Hawaii or Ball State try to convince me they are worthy of a title shot. Get real.

I Personally would have hated
seeing a Boise-ball State game. Because In the end the winner would end up being way overrated. They need to beat a top major conference school in my mind to get that respect. Playing each would haved proved nothing.

Initially I agreed with you. . .
If I was Ball St. I would rather play a good BCS school than an undefeated Boise St. team for recognition. But when you read on an realize that Ball State’s only options remaining seem to be either ND or NC St, you gotta question the decision. Its unfortunate that they don’t get to play a better team because of bowl tie ins. Give me Ball St-Texas Tech!

Kind of good for the everyone in a way
Now, if both teams will win their respective bowls, and we’ll have 2 undefeated teams that didn’t even get a shot at the BCS.
Years from now they can be used as an example of “here look at this year, two different teams were undefeated, won their bowls, and didn’t go to the BCS. We obviously need a playoff!”. No one will remember this minor detail of them having the chance to play each other…
So in a way, it’s just another knock on the BCS and another reason we need a playoff.

In their defense
would we want to be playing against our bowl opponent in their home stadium? No! That’s why we’re playing a whole 16 miles away!

More impressively,
it’s over 84,000 feet away. You read that correctly – 84K!
Hard to believe those Trojans aren’t ramped up for this.

Seriously
How awesome would it be to play your bowl game in your home town? Imagine PSU playing their bowl game in Beaver Stadium against USC. Who wouldn’t get jacked for that?

Lost!
To Buffalo. That’s what they get for turning it down while the money was good.
