That last play against Texas makes a lot more sense now.

He saw the white powder at the goal line & got confused. He thought he was back home & fought to try to get to the line before anyone else.

He have been extremely confused

First, avoiding that invitingly thick white sideline, then racing for an identical goal line.

I had debated whether to say he was avoiding the sideline or going for the goal line.

Obviously, I ended up choosing the latter.
