Same old Mark May

So I just watched the Rose Bowl preview, which I am sure many of you have seen over on tWWL. And I am sure this rehashing things we have been hearing and will continue to hear, but I need to vent.

It still amazes me how biased the experts are. Mr. May stated USC will absolutely crush Penn State, Corso agreed. But the only voices of reason were Lou Holtz and Herbstreet. Both made made some very interesting points.

1) Every talks about how insanely awesome USC's defense is and do not get me wrong, I agree they are very good. Good defenses can hold teams scoreless. However it seems a contradiction that everyone says how awesome their defense is and in the same sentence says how terrible the PAC-10 is. Did anyone ever consider a 0-12 team is not hard to hold scoreless? How about a 1-11 team? The might offense of ASU or UA? No offense to these schools but they aren't exactly putting of 50 a game going into the USC game.

2) Lou Holtz said it perfectly, "The USC offense is not that superior". Granted they can score bunches of points, but again look at the compeition. But they get 500 blue chip 5 star recruits a year, shouldn't they be expected to perform at a higher level with superior talent?

3) Lastly, would you ever hear a Nittany Lion player saying, we don't want to go to the Rose Bowl again? We wanna play a real team, not USC? No, JoePa would have those kids running laps until they puked, and then have them run some more. This is the biggest beef I have right now. Its great motivation for PSU, but is Carroll that confident he lets it continue?

4) Lastly, from 1968-1974 PSU went something like 79-10 with 3 undefeated seasons, 5-1 in bowls. From 2002-2008 USC is 81-9, with 1 undefeated season, 5-1 in bowls. JoePa doesn't do this from year to year. Its decade to deacade. How about we stop annointing Carroll as the greatest coach ever and see how he does in a few years.

Sorry to rant, but Mark May needs to meet the Zug in a dark alley and wet himself. Then all will be well with the world.

All true,

but this is the stuff I love to hear – that PSU doesn’t stand a chance. It’ll make the post-game that much sweeter.

I assume Mr. Maybe likes Pitt’s chances?

Pitt

Pitt could be playing the New York Giants and May would like their chances. I agree I love to hear this stuff too.

Mark May

doesn’t even attempt to hide his hatred and jealousy of PSU anymore. He said Penn State isn’t capable of scoring 10 points on USC. 10!!!! That puts us way behind Stanford and Oregon State, and equal to Arizona offensively. USC hasn’t faced as talented or balanced of an offense as Penn State’s yet this season, and still averages surrendering 7.5 points per game, so Penn State can’t top that by a field goal??? I honestly wouldn’t be surprised to hear Mark May proclaim Pitt to be better than USC if they manage to squeak out a win over OrSU in the Sun Bowl.

What's mark may's deal?

Pitt grad? Didn’t get accepted by Penn State?
What is the source of all the hate?

And it seems like Herbstreit, the OSU alum, always loves Penn State. Strange, or is he just smart?

There is no such thing

as a smart Ohio State alum. Unless they have been baptized by Zug to remove their original sin, of course

And when Penn State wins it will be because USC wasn’t into the game, and BLAH BLAH BLAH, f*&^in’ homer!

Just ask him..........

to explain away Paterno being 14-4 in “Major” bowls.

When Penn State is good, they are better than your teams good. When they are mediocre they are as mediocre as anyone else.

Believe it or not

Mark May won the Outland Trophy at Pitt.

He’s just trying to stir the pot by hating on his old rival.

Knowing that..

I wouldn’t touch the Outland Trophy with a 12 foot pole, which includes a 12 foot tall Polish man

Yeah..

May might like that a little too much…
