Mike is feeling down and out today, so I figured I would try and start a nice discussion post about your favorite Penn State football moment. It can be the most memorable game, award, season, ect. Just one rule here make it your own!
I guess I will start with the fact that my most memorable moments came in games I did NOT go to, not because I did not have tickets but because I did not feel like going and dealing with crappy weather. The 05 tOSU whiteout game is one, and LJs run through MSU to go over 2k is the second. But the game that really stands out to me above any other was the 07 Outback bowl. My brother and best friend and I took the road trip from my parents house in Central Pa, to Tampa with only a 12 hour pitstop at my house in South Carolina to get a nice sleep. We got to Tampa and had a blast, our seats were in the endzone in the student section right next to the Tennesse fans. The heckling from both sides was entertaining and fun. One of the funniest things that happened was prior to the game we did not think you could buy beer in the stadium, so we were chugging as many right before we went in as possible to have a nice buzz. We walk in and the first thing we see is a beer vendor. Needless to say I was well lubricated for much of the 1st half! It turned out to be an exciting day on the field, BUT what makes it memorable was just being at a game with those guys and relaxing and taking it all in. I have seen better games, I have seen bigger games, but just enjoying that day is still my favorite PSU moment.
