No
He's ineligible until after next fall semester. So we'll see him next December. But he can practice right away.

Tied at 17
Way to regroup after being down 10 early. This team is showing signs of coming together. They're playing with a lot of energy. Putting Walker and Morrissey in was a great move by Ed.

Damn
10 turnovers in the first half already. Got to tighten it up and take care of the ball.

Purdue is on an 8-0 run since we put Battle and Pringle back in. They are eating us up in man-to-man. The zone was slowing them down.

Nice run here
Three by Jackson. Fast break layup by Cornley. Now Jones is on the line trying to cut it to a three point lead. And he misses one of them. Ugh.

Halftime
Nice 7-0 run to pull back within three points. Purdue is leading 33-30.

Good first half. We got a little sloppy there at times with the turnovers. If we can limit those we have a chance in the second half.

It seemed like we were playing better when Walker and Morrissey were in there. Those guys are crafty and know how to get open off the screens. We had to play the 2-3 zone with them and Purdue seemed to have problems with that.

Pringle and Battle seem to have problems running the offense against these guys. Purdue likes to step out on the screens and force them away from the basket. But there at the end they were pushing the transition game and seemed to be doing well there. Should be a good second half if we stay focused. We have to avoid the imfamous 10 minute scoring drought. Let's not forget Purdue is a very young game, and with the Wisconsin game coming up this could be a trap game for them.

12 to 8
i dont even know the radio guys name, but he seems to curse us by bringing up the "12 to 8" comment every time.  Against OSU we started the drout right at 12.

Will be interesting to see who Coach puts in at 12

Too many turnovers. They're getting frustrated. Need to just stay patient.

pryor info leaked from rivals on message board
Terrelle Pryor just called me a few minutes ago and said he's now not signing tomorrow. He said he's 100-percent sure he's not signing. He said he's going to take an official visit to Penn State for sure, hopefully a weekend visit, and might visit Oregon. He said he is just not sure of his choice as of right now.

He has had numerous discussions with his father who really likes the way Penn State has recruited Terrelle. Penn State has been to Terrelle's father's house numerous times and had done a good job making him feel comfortable that PSU is the right place for his son.

So as of now it's OSU, Michigan, PSU and Oregon for his services with no signing date set. He could change his mind again when he wakes up, so I am simply reporting what he's telling me.

Trust me, he is not doing this for the attention, this kid sounds as torn up about a decision as any I've covered. And he is aware of the reputation that some folks are pinning on him and to that he told me he has to do what is right for him and can't worry about public opinion. He and his family come first and this is an important decision that he's not going to rush for anyone.

Good news for PSU fans here no doubt.

Two quick thoughts
Why can we not figure out how to pass the ball, it has been consistently awful all season and LEARN TO BLOCK OUT!!!!!!!! Don't tell Claxton was the only one that knew how.

by PSU Nick on Feb 5, 2008 10:39 PM EST   0 recs

Down by 11 points
We're in the drought and things are getting away from us. When Cornley went down it kind of took the wind out of our sails. If it weren't for bad luck we wouldn't have any luck at all.

That poor kid is really struggling to hit anything. Hopefully it's just freshman jitters and he's more focused on learning the system than practicing his shooting.

And That'll do it
Not a terrible game. They hung with Purdue for probably 25 minutes. Losing Cornley hurt us. Missed foul shots and turnovers killed us. You just can't do that on the road and expect to win. But we can come out of this game with confidence. They didn't get embarrassed.
