Congratulations to Phil Davis for winning the National Championship in the 197 pound weight class in wrestling.

Congratulations are also in order for Bubba Jenkins who finished second in the final match against top seeded Brent Metcalf of Iowa in the 149 division.

Both wrestlers were instrumental in assisting the Penn State wrestling team that featured four all-americans to a third place finish overall. Well done, men. You make us proud.

Jenkins started off strong against Metcalf getting 2 takedowns in the first period, but couldn't sustain it.

Phil Davis pretty much dominated his whole match.

Galen will probably have the nitty gritty up soon. Big Ten went 1-2-3 (Iowa, Ohio State, Penn State)

Our other two All-Americans were Dan Vallimont (third at 157) and Mark McKnight (4th at 125). True Freshman Garrett Scott lost in the Round of 12 (the last round prior to the medal round and All-American status) at 141.

We should all be VERY proud of the team's accomplishments this year. Davis and McKnight are both graduating, but a ton of talent returns for next year, so there's every reason to believe we can be equally successful next year as well! WE ARE... PENN STATE!
