Connor and King NOT Drafted on the First Day
Yes, you read that correct. PSU's all-time leading tackler, and best cover corner of the past two years were not drafted in the first two rounds of this year's NFL draft. From this, I can only draw a few logical conclusions:
1) The "experts" are idiots.
I've seen Connor going in the first round of numerous mock drafts, with King on the periphery. Connor also occupied a spot on Mel "The Guru" Kiper's Big Board for a good portion of time as well. Shows what these guys know.
2) A bunch of scouts should be out of jobs right now.
Remember that Paul Posluszny character? Ya know, the one who was third in the entire NFL in tackles before his injury? Well, many believe Connor to be even better. Guess these guys were too busy dealing with "upside" and "measurables" to remember to watch the damn game film. You can't teach instincts.
And if they are basing their picks on the mythical "upside," how in the heck was King not drafted? We're talking about the guy who ran the 2nd fastest 40 yard dash at the combine, played virtually the entire year with an injury, and is a class act off the field. Guess he doesn't have enough "upside" for the NFL.
Sure, being a diehard PSU fan, this angers me almost as much as it mystifies me. But then again, what does it matter? Tell guys like Tom Brady, Marques Colston and Brian Westbrook that being drafted late means you won't pan out. Or conversely, tell guys like Joey Harrington, Ryan Leaf and David Carr that being high 1st round picks is the only true dictator of future success.
Bottom line, there are going to be some teams looking awful smart tomorrow when they get a pair of 2nd-day steals.
Best of luck, Justin and Dan.

I thought
As far as King goes, yes he was injuried, but he looked like a steaming pile against Hardy, Robiskie and Thomas. Justin is fast, but people were afraid to throw on him. Once the cat got out of the bag he got abused so I'm not surprised he's still on the board.
2006
This is why I hate the NFL draft. A bunch of losers like Mel Kiper get paid lots of money to take a kid who was great in college, and explain to America why he actually isn't very good at all because he ran the 40 .00000000000000000004 seconds slower than the next guy.

Ok...
Stupid move. Remember scouts look at the body of work and while he shut down Ginn and Meachum, he got abused but others including Manningham, Arrington, Hardy, Thomas, and Robiskie.
*Note the scUM wideeouts got him both years.
Connor
- Drew Rosenhaus is his agent, and after the T.O. debacle with Philly, he might not be getting a whole lot of love from the league owners. Connor might not be getting drafted as high as he should because Rosenhaus is a dick and will try to force the owners to overpay.
- Our team was barely above mediocre last year and mostly out of the national spotlight. Hell, an App. State player got drafted on the first day. You can bet your hat & ass that only happened because App State beat Michigan in front of the world.
Hell
I know Connor wants to get paid, as I would, but a rookie hiring Rosenhaus is what I'd expect out of someone like Teddy Ginn.
Good luck Connor, carry on the name.

Undrafted! I was really hoping that he would have been drafted last as Mr. Irrelevant.
