Ticket Questions for A Noob....

Looking for some advice on getting Oregon State tickets this fall.

According to,
http://gopsusports.cstv.com/tickets/ticket-sale-dates.html
I won't be able to get OSU tickets when the public sale starts on July 25th. How is this so?

In the past, I've gotten tickets off eBay or bought them at the Stadium. I'm not too picky, but I generally don't like being in the North/South Upper sections.

I guess the difference is I'm trying to plan ahead and figure this out. Didn't make any games in 2007, so I'm anxious to get up to the beav.

Ticket Sales
The Nittany Liion club admisisters all ticket sales.  The priorty goes as follows;

Nittany Lion Club Members - Season Tickets
Nittany Lion Club Members - Single game tickets
Non-NLC/PSUAA Members - Season Tickets
PSU Alumni Assoc. Members - single game tickets
General public - single game tickets.

There is no way that Oregon State tickets will fall into the final category, thus Penn State is telling you that you can't buy tickets, meaning you can't buy them from the NLC. When the general sale starts.

If you are an NLC member, call them up and ask, they are generally very helpful even to small donors like me.  The bent over backwards helping put my Alamo Bowl trip together.

If your not a member, send them $25 and start an account, and you'll get first crack at the tikets next season.

hope this helps.

It does thanks....
so even if I give them $25, say today, I can't get a crack at 2008 tickets because of the timing?

I am an Alumni Association member, but I didn't know if that gave me any leverage for getting tickets ahead of the public sale.

Its really ridiculous how I don't know this stuff and I've been going to games as a student from '01 o '05. People are selling on eBay already, but I really think you end up over-paying more often than not.

No
I think the cut off for NLC membership was February first for 2008 tickets.

Usually the PSUAA members get a secret code for the lets them get at the ticket master sale a day or two early. The last two years the code was placed in an ad in the Penn Stater magazine. They will tell you to look for it in an email. I assume that is how they are doing it this year.

I can tell you that I am an NLC member, and I did not get a single game ticket application yet, and I may not get one.

One thing you can do is call Oregon State, I bet that if you join their club, you'll be able to get tickets in their section, I can't imagine they are going to sell all of their ticket allotment with it being a 2,500 mile trip and all. You can actually do this for most games, or, if you go to the PSU ticket office a couple of days before the game, many teams send back some tickets from their allotment.

Good Call...
Well for your sake I hope you get some ticket applications.

And yes, I remember picking up tickets at the BJC for the infamous '04 Iowa game a few days before. Of course, at that time tickets were readily available, but we ended up getting about 10 rows back right next to the Iowa section. Dammit, I'm ranting now, but I was a senior and wanted to show my family a good time by taking them to a PSU game....what a terrible experience.

Thanks for the good advice.

I would recommend the TicketExchange
on TicketMaster, you can safely buy someone else's ticket and not have to worry about getting scammed. It probably won't be face value and Oregon St may not be the cheapest, but won't be anywhere near as expensive as what Michigan tickets will be trading for. This is all under the assumption that all tickets are sold before public sale.

i agree
i pointed my friend to ticketexchange for the wisconsin homecoming game last year, and i think he ended up getting decent tickets for around 75 a piece, and when considering all the BS you could potentially encounter, that isn't a bad price. plus, you have the ability to look at where the tickets are located, and if willing spring for the better seats. all ticketexchange members are season ticket holders, so for the most part they're not going to scalp you like people on ebay and stubhub

If you go to ticketmaster.com
I believe there is a tab that says TicketExchange.
