LaVar Sighting
Just wanted to share that I ran into LaVar Arrington last night when I could barely walk. I just finished a bar tour and tried to take a picture with him and totally missed. I was ticked. He still looks huge and intimidating. However, the reason I'm writing is I heard from a friend he was here buying the old Sports Cafe. Does anyone know anything about this rumor? I would love to get another shot at getting a picture with him.

I've heard the same
Supposedly that was the reason he was in town, to meet with the other investors. I’m really excited to see what they do with that space.
Could be true....
Read the bottom of this article, stolen from rmcmillen on the “Where to watch Pens/Flyers thread”...

Question...
Is his NFL career over? I know he was thinking of retiring… or maybe he did retire… I can’t recall… any chance we’ll ever see him on the field again?
He was unsigned...
BEFORE he blew out his knee on that bike accident. I haven’t heard anything but I doubt he’ll be back.

He is done...
From very a reliable source Lavar has opened some restraunts in Miami and is now going to open more in different cities (hopefully the burgh will be one of them). From what I am told he loves the restraunt business and has no plans to return to the football field. I wish he would come back but from the sounds of it its not going to happen.
some business owners in SC
are also reporting the same thing.

I Am Always Amazed / Jealous....
when I hear people like Nastasi (apparently about 31) can come up with the funding to open businesses like this. I ran into a kid down here who went to Clarion…..he was about 26 when he and 4 friends borrowed 25k a piece from their parents and bought what became The Leopard Lounge in Atlanta. They then went on to open 4 other nightclubs in Atlanta by the time he was 32. They were printing money.
