Top Ten List

So Penn State has made the Top 10 for Tate Forcier.  Nothing to surprising on the list.  This List is

  1. Arizona State
  2. Florida
  3. Michigan
  4. Nebraska
  5. New Mexico
  6. Oregon
  7. Penn State
  8. Stanford
  9. Texas A&M
  10. Washington State

With a quick look at the final ten, you would assume New Mexico really has no chance.  Michigan just got two QBs in Tate's class.  Florida has about 15 QBs on the roster and Tate would spend a lot of team waiting to get his shot.   Arizona State has Jack Elway and I don't think Tate wants to wait there.  That being said, if he made a decision today i think it would look like this:

Stanford
Penn State
Nebraska
Texas A&M

Nebraska is the dark horse.  No firery coach, great tradition, however not know for throwing the ball.  Stanford has a couple of key factors that he might like:

  1. In California
  2. Brother is on team
  3. Fromer NFL QB as Head Coach
  4. John Elway

Penn State is waiting....

Stanford

also got 5* QB Andrew Luck last year, so Tate would have to deal with that.

Jeeze, when you put it like that and compare it to PSU, we don’t have a shot:
1. 2,700 miles away
2. No family on team
3. Former State College HS QB as QB Coach
4. Kerry Collins

Spread HD

I really think the only chance we have of landing Forcier or any other elite offensive skill player is if the offense is putting up tons of points and flying all over the field.

This season

is the key. If the HD works out as expected, I’ll think you’ll see some more big-time offensive recruits signing with PSU. Success breeds success – that’s why OSU and USC have been getting the good ones recently.

One Problem...

I believe i read somewhere that Tate wants to commit early. So i don’t think he will get a chance to see the Spread HD. Can someone please mail him some tapes of 2005?

Maybe Jay Pa can buy a copy of NCAA College Football ‘08, create Tate Forcier, install him in PSU’s spread HD offense, and let Tate take over the controller… I hear Playstation 2 skills transfer well to the football field.

Tate

Tate is all over the place. Aside from these cuts it’s really tough to find out what he’s actually thinking. I wouldn’t be surprised if he waited or if he committed early. Get ready for anything.

I keep hearing that PSU is high on Tate’s list, that he really likes our program… Can anyone support some atricles/interviews/anything to back this up? I want to gauge how much of a shot we truly have.
