Penn state could reach 800 wins
after this season. I was reading the USA today when they mentioned in the sports section that OSU is only 2 wins away from the 800 level, and Penn State is ten wins away.
I thought that was very interesting, I didn't think we would be up that high.
Only four other schools the article says have reached the 800 win mark: Nebraska, Notre Dame, Michigan, and Texas.
i found it on their website:
http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/football/2008-07-09-collegefootballkickoff_N.htm
it's near the bottom.

Sweet
Wouldn’t it be friggin great to win at least ten – go to a major bowl (rose) and really send Joe out on top.

that's not too much to ask
and that would be fantastic: joe has the all-time wins record when he retires, takes down a rose bowl victory in his last game; and gets nearly half of the programs 800 wins.
More than any other sport, football’s about heart and desire. I want to see some passion out of these guys to send joe out on top.

We better get to 800 wins this year
If we don’t get 10 or more wins, it’ll be the 3rd year in a row where the faithful watched Dear Old State underachieve. This program has had the talent to produce double digit win seasons since 2005 and so far we only did so in 2005.
I look forward to another opportunity to right the ship and watch the Nits take over the college football world again!

2006
I don’t agree that this would be the third straight underachieving year if that doesn’t happen. I think a lot of us (myself included) thought the magic from 2005 was going to continue and we wouldn’t miss a beat in 2006. The reality was that we lost our Big 10 offensive POTY quarterback, entire secondary, and most of the offensive and defensive lines. I don’t think too many teams in the country could lose that much and expect to win 10 games. That team lost to 3 BCS teams and a fourth team in Wisconsin that was in the top 10. I think that team actually performed about where it should have. It won the games it was supposed to, lost the games it was supposed to, then capped off the season with a nice bowl win. That doesn’t mean the fanbase wasn’t disappointed (esp. after 2005), but I don’t think they underachieved. Last year, yes-they should have been 11-1.

I'd agree with all of the 2006 losses except Wiscy
That game was painful to watch and it was our fault that we lost that game. PSU was the better team that year and they failed to show up in Madison.

Yeah, probably
If only Donnie Johnson had held onto that INT we may have won. Regardless, I don’t think that team underachieved too greatly.
