I am excited to see lots of sacks from our stud D-Line....I am excited to see an Offense that opens up alittle with the mobile Q-back like those MRob days....Just so excited about the season....6 weeks until we get us some PSU football.

Here's what excites me about 2008

1. We have a top OL across the board
2. We have a top DL across the board
3. We have an athletic QB that will make things happen with his legs and arm

Championships are won along the lines so we should be contenders this year. Hopefully the coaches don’t choke because I doubt the players will.

I agree with you 100%, ReadingNitFan, championships are won in the trenches.

This should be our best offensive line since Jeff Hartings, Bucky Greeley, Marco Rivera, Keith Conlin, and Andre Collins on the ‘94 team. I think this quarterback has more savvy, moxy, or whatever you want to call it, but I think he’ll be a real leader. And I like the fact that since the last incident with that dickhead Chris Bell and the knife, there have been no incidents off the field to distract them. As long as the coaches coach with aggression, no fear, and coach to win (like they have something to prove, not something to protect) I think this season should be a great season. The only stumbling blocks I see for the season are at Columbus (haven’t won there since we joined the Big Ten) and at Wisconsin. This should be the year we beat them cheatin’ rotten bastards from Ann Arbor. I see 10-2 with a BCS bowl and a Top 5 finish. Barring any injuries or some other major distraction, anything less to me, will be a failure.

Defense

I hope the 2ndary has been putting in extra time because I don’t see anyone running on Penn State this year. There are going to be a lot of pass attempts against this 2ndary.

Excited...

Because we seem to have a solid team that can go far.

This is also my first time following in the off season and now I’m addicted to ever piece of info about PSU Football. Before I was a casual fan, now I’m a fanatic.

I was out in the trenches, which enables me to paint such a powerful picture, like Apocalypse Now.-Cormega

I'm excited

because no matter who we have at quarterback, they can’t be worse than who we had last year (kinda harsh, but that’s how I’m looking at this year). Also excited for our defense and Zombie Nation to be blasting 5 times a game

I was listening to the Phillies this weekend on the radio &.....

they played Zombie Nation before going to a commercial break. My son and I started hopping and chanting in the car. I’m getting very pumped for this season!!

I'm excited

for the players and for myself, I will get too watch their progress individually and as a team!

I’m excited for Daryll Clark/Pat Devlin at QB. Stephfon Green at RB. Stefen Wisniewski at RG. Chris Colasanti at LB. AJ Wallace finally starting at CB and still returning kicks which should provide some excitement.

I can’t wait to watch our RBs…Evan Royster, Stephfon Green, Brandon Beachum & Brent Carter. I’m ready for Royster to blow up, and Green to shed the “unknown” tag. I want to see Brandon contribute as an early enrollee but I know that may not be likely. At 6’ 220-230 he appears physically ready to make spot contributions, and I really liked what I saw watching his feet during the B-W game and how he ran north-south.

WRs/TEs should be good. Time for the 3 smurfs to put up, I know they can do it if Clark has any passing ability to go with his charisma. DWill in the slot when at WR 100% of the time and taking attention away from Deon, Deon stepping it up against tOSU/UMs of the world as well as DWill & Jordan Norwood. Shuler, Quarless & Szczerba providing 6’6-ish/6’4 250 + pound targets for our QB (presumably Clark).

I’m thrilled with the OL & the DL, I just hope the OTs remain healthy. Stefen Wisniewski should be a stud.

DL will be absurd. We’ll add three players that we didn’t have in ‘08 – DT Chimaeze Okoli (6’5 280-287), DT Devon Still (6’5 295-300), DE Eric Latimore (6’6 260-270). We’ll have a healthy (hopefully…fingers crossed) Jerome Hayes, Jared Odrick, Abe Koroma, Tom McEowen heading into the season. Maurice Evans is ridiculous. Josh Gaines is a veteran team captain who could emerge as a force against the run. Our DT depth is unimaginable…Phil Taylor is one of my favorite players and I hope he gets his act together.

I can’t wait to see which LBs emerge…Navarro Bowman, Bani Gbadyu, Chris Colasanti, Nathan Stupar, Josh Hull, Tyrell Sales, Andrew Dailey and the freshmen (sorry if I left someone out).

I am happy that Tony Davis is presumably back at CB as a senior, and I hope he gets what he deserves – which is a highly productive and injury-free senior season on a better than 9 or 10 win team.

I’m excited about D’Anton Lynn possibly seeing PT at S and/or CB, maybe even having the chance to return some kicks if we are looking for someone other than DWill, he does have to play WR and return punts after all.

I’m excited for these three players future in the secondary: Chaz Powell, Drew Astorino, Nick Sukay (if healthy).

Tony Davis back at CB

I read somewhere (BWI maybe?) that Davis is moving back to corner. I really didn’t like the idea of Sargeant as a starting corner and was worried about the seconday in general, but Wallace and Davis at CB with Sargeant as the nickel back is pretty solid. So, that’s got me a little excited.

I’m getting excited, but I’m trying to keep my optimism a little under control.

Does anyone have an extra one of the new 2008 posters? I’d really love to have one!! My room isn’t the same without the updated poster.

PUMPED is RIGHT!

PUMPED FOR THAT “BLACK SHOES-WEARIN’ MAN” TOO!

DLine: most preseason mags note PSU “could be” the best in the Big10. Hello? How ‘bout you pump THAT up a bit bossman…say like “one of the best in the Nation!” Yeah, that’s better. But, I’ll digress on this point: “show it on the field!” That’s more like it so the far-sighted ‘pressers, who annually do not favor Dear ‘Ole State will have something to really write about then!

RB’s: first of all and foremost, I believe these guys (and all of us) will be stating this alot: “Thank you OLine!” A near perfect setting for young (but talented) backfield to have seasoned / talented veterans (well young Wis is a partial exception & is exceptional) to set -up behind. I hope we rotate at least (3) backs, simply because of the different looks and styles they each bring. I do feel, that by the end of the season, our backs will be in the Top 5 tandums in the Nation…I’ll include the QB production in that statement too.

LB’s: uhhh, humm, at least all the “experts” lead into the write-ups with: ”...Sean Lee is hurt/will miss the season, that’s a big miss for PSU…that’s dually noted. However, our LB Manufacturing Plant, we are blessed with some physically charges & talenent hard hitters. It's easy to jump on the tOSU "Larengitis" bashing bus (comes natural 'round these parts) but I shouldn't be the only person to NOT BE suprised that one of our (relatively unknown) LB's is going to have better stats than him the end of this year…and will be visually MORE PHYSICAL.

OVER?!
