T8 4CA update

I read this morning that T8 has narrowed his list to 6 schools: Penn State, Michigan, Oregon, Florida, Washington State, New Mexico. Several Cali schools that have already received verbals from another QB have been removed from his list. Apparently T8 wants to be the top (or only) QB in the signing class. Since we're still in need of a QB in this class, it's good news that PSU continues to make the cut.

Any thoughts or predictions??

The Tate

Tate won’t go to Michigan beause they already have commits from 2 QBs. Florida has about 18 Qbs on their roster, Oregon has taken commits. Its PSU, Washington State, and New Mexico.

If the reason for dropping schools is correct

then I like our chances more. He said on Rivals that he will probably visit Florida, Michigan, and Penn State. If playing time and not having to compete with another QB in his class is his preference then I gotta think we’re the choice.

I still have doubts as to whether or not he’ll choose PSU in the end. I think that he and Brown would be a nice addition to this class, along with the Maryland recruits. Tate is a perfect fit for our offense IMO. I hope we end up with his signature!

When Pat doesn’t win the starting job and transfers to Delaware or some other FCS (D1-AA) Tate can start as a Redshirt Freshman

Assuming Devlin stays...

and I hope to God he does, T8 could redshirt a year, play back up a year, and then start 3 years. It’s a simple, win-win situation for everyone.

Sh*t or get off the pot.

Not that I necessarily blame the kid for taking his time with an important decision, but…

I wish he’d just pull the trigger for PSU and help with recruiting. It would be great if he picked PSU in December or January, but he could really make an impact if he’d commit after visiting for the PSU-Illinois game and then started working on other undecided recruits. That’s what the program needs.

then who? at some point we are going to have to land a high profile QB. How is it that PSU has not had a QB commit in the past 2 classes? Seriously, i would take a 2 star project or something. A camp arm, another Suhey anything is better then nothing.

Yes ideally we want Pat to stay and i hope like hell he does. But who knows how he will feel if he doesn’t start the next two years and only gets to start his Redshirt Senior year.

We need to bring in some QBs. Florida brings in a new QB every year. Hell, i’ll even take the next State College HS QB, at least it is a body.

Would you rather have

Just a body (lifeless) that the linemen had to hold upright and move around (think weekend at Bernie’s – type BQ) or Anthony Morelli? I, for one, would take my chances with the Weekend at Bernie’s QB.

Gibbon’s dad (who is also his coach) emails me every once in a while to send me links to different articles and video on Myles. He tells me Penn State has gone cold on him and hasn’t contacted him in a while.

I was disappointed to hear it, but I guess the coaching staff feels like they like their chances with some other kids. Gibbon is kind of a wild card since he’s from Canada where they play by different rules and nobody is sure about the level of competition. And who knows what kind of paperwork is involved with a player from another country wanting to go to school and play football in the States. It may be a hastle, but I’m not sure. If he gets an offer from us I think it will be late in the game after all of our other targets are off the board.

We had no problem bringing the

heralded Francis Claude down from the great, white north so I imagine paperwork wouldn’t be an issue if PSU likes a kid enough to offer a scholarship.

I would tend to go with the PSU is once again putting all their eggs in one omelet arguement. If the T8 goes elsewhere expect a mad scramble for a plan B or C.

We also offered Reed out of CT if I recall correctly.

A chance

If Gibson dosen’t come to happy valley, I really hope the kid at least gets a chance taken on him from a FBS school to show what he has. It seems like he has his head on straight and wants a chance to succeed. Here’s to someone giving him one.
