The Domino Effect..

I really do not want to see Penn State hire a coach outside of the system. Has anyone thought about the domino effect of what could happen.. say if Greg Schiano would become the next head coach at Penn State. What would happen to the coaches we have on staff now? Would Tom Bradley pull a "Jerry Sandusky"? Would Schiano bring his staff from Rutgers.. just like Rich Rod did with his move from WVU to Michigan? If there is anyone who deserves the head coaching position at Penn State when Joe retires, it is Tom Bradley, I am a firm believer on that. The reason i bring up Jerry Sandusky is because before there was a Tom Bradley.. Sandusky was the most deserving of the head coaching job at Penn State. I just hope Bradley stays long enough to get his chance.

All you people that are saying Schiano is a recruiting guru in the northeast.. just take a step back and think.. he has to have help, right? His coaching staff contributes a lot to those players he brings in.. and if he were to leave Rutgers, would his staff follow him.. and if they would.. that would mean the coaching staff we have now at Penn State (in my opinion, we have one of the best in the nation) would get the boot and i really do not want to see that happen to those guys who have been here so long and put there blood, sweat, and time in this program just as much as the other guy.

So shed some light on this people.. what do you think? Do i have a point?

I agree that Tom Bradley should be the next coach

I hope he gets his chance in 2009. I think the moment you go outside the program, you lose some tradition and I don’t want that to happen in Happy Valley!

Bradley

If Bradley doesn’t become coach and someone like Schiano does, Bradley will not stick around to be D-Coordinator.

My...

only problem with Bradley is I don’t know enough to guess that he will take the program beyond what we have been in the past few years. I mean, if it is going to be more of the same just to appease long time fans that just want Joe Pa pt. 2, then that is being unfair to the football program and fans in the long run. If he can surpass what Joe Pa has done in recent years and still keep that “Penn State way”, that is great. If someone from outside can do a better job, I would be in favor of that as well. I sometimes think that people are afraid the overall program would lose its values and collapse if an outsider was brought in. I’m sure this great country of ours can provide a coach who can win and also teach football players to be worthwhile adults.
