PSU D-Line now thinned-out
As the report goes, yesterday BOTH Baker & Taylor have been removed from the team.
I have mixed emotions on this...I'm not sure about all of you; but I am confident that I do not know all the facts (kept behind the scenes, that's the way it goes) only know what I read as do you all.
I thought they were re-instated though?
Besides the recent OTL reporting, did anything else happen that was "bubbling behind the scenes?" Again, I thought they were "back-on the team." I am not suprised they are gone; but hate the thought that if they were "that close" before all of the crap that has been stirred-up ( and since Sundays show ) this all could have "smelled" alot better if this action was taken awhile ago.

Regardless of whether or not we know all of the issues....
The timing of this, along with all of the initial off the field issues indicate to me that PSU football has been a ship at sea without a true captain for a few years now. We’ve got a few officers but no captain.
Man, I hope our legendary coach realizes that he is no longer the head coach that he once was or needs to be in order to get PSU back to where it belongs once again. We need strong leadership, not a figurehead at this moment in time.
Patiently waiting for the return of Penn State Football

No leader at the helm
Reading NitFan, I cannot agree more; Joe Paterno gave up control of the program over five years ago and perhaps as many as ten years ago. He has not disciplined players as he once did.
I will forgive Joe of all of the things (and there are many) he has done wrong in recent years, relish every game this year, and enjoy watching him coach his final season. I will truly appreciate him for what he has done both for Penn State football and the university. Then, when he gets shoved out the door by Spanier after 2008 – and he will – and a new coach is announced, I will buy one of those overly expensive Penn State football jerseys and a fine bottle of wine to celebrate a new PS Football beginning..

D-Line thinned out?
I don’t agree with that because Taylor and Baker were like cancers on the team. Now that they are gone many of the distractions are gone with them. They were the two players who got into trouble most frequently. With Koroma, Ogbu, Odrick, Still, and Okoli, they are in excellent hands and will still go three deep at tackle and end positions. I worry about the inexperienced QB position, not the D-Line positions.
