I already ruled out Illinois because of the grass.

do you mean happy, cause they sure look happy.
I don't know, Mello Yello is pretty awful. What's the worst that could happen?
of course they tore it up
Michigan is one of the many programs to abandon a real football field and I hold that against them. Football was meant to be played on grass/dirt/mud/snow/etc.

It's actually 9 DAYS 22 HOURS 12 MINUTES 37 SECONDS
UNTIL KICKOFF (ie, grown men acting like little boys!!). Wow. Did I just actually type a single digit number for the number of days until kickoff?
Loved the caption. How many of us will be acting like boys when we put our beer goggles on and fire up the grills? I can smell the hot sausages now!!
I just pickep up an awesome...
(in my opinion) tailgating/beer drinking shirt.

Only 10 days til our qb’s turn our wide receivers into defensive backs…

Convivite Nudem!
come on
we’re turning over a new leaf and trying out a new QB, let’s at least give him a chance. How about only 10 days until our QB coach calls for a 9 and out pattern on third and 10.
I don't know, Mello Yello is pretty awful. What's the worst that could happen?
I'd like to quote myself:
“When Jay calls for some razzle-dazzle mushy out-pattern 9 yards deep when it’s 3rd and 10 in the 3rd quarter against OSU—I hope people remember not to blame the QB or the receiver.”
Holy crap...
…that line is from Kicking and Screaming… best movie ever.
Otis: I put my hand in my mouth after I touched all of that money. Could that be bad?
Max: Of course. That’s how germs are spread.
I finally feel at home
"Yes it's true. Everyone knows that I've pitched. I make sure of that. I have nine different pitches, all of which are awesome. I have a 0.00 ERA, got one out, throwing all knuckleballs. I don't remember who I faced -- some dude from Ole Miss." - Ryan Theriot
I have to say....
I’ve always heard the legends of the Illinois game in ’94 but never was able to witness it until they aired it yesterday on BTN.
Truthfully, I don’t know if I’d ever seen any games from ‘94 until then and I’m pretty sure that I would give up my small left toe for 75% of that offense back.
"A setback is just a set up for a comeback." -Drew Brees
there is a highlight...
vedio (maybe dvd) from that season. has every game except the rose bowl game. i forget what its called but it’s pretty good… i think it it’s narrated by Harry Kalas too.
i’ll try and find the name of it… maybe someone else can recall?
Illinois '94
I’ll never forget falling behind 21-0 in that game and being perfectly calm about it. Our offense was so good I knew we were going to score in the 30’s before the game was over. All we had to do was stop turning the ball over. It was a great but odd feeling I’ve never had before or since.

That's the exact opposite feeling I had
during last season’s Michigan State game….never felt so UNcomfortable with a 17-point lead. Oh how times have changed.

Right
I never stressed for a second when the games were actually going on (well a little against Illinois). But when I watched the replay of both the Illinois game and the Rose Bowl I found myself half pissed off thinking that they really could/should have lost both of those games. But back in the day I fervently believed that they could score whenver they wanted to.
For the Glory; National Champions 1982, 1986, 1994,
I was not so calm
I had great faith in the offense – they just needed to sober up.
the msu game that year was a little tense as well – and of course there was the last 5 minutes (or so) of the indiana game.
So, while that was the best offense I have every seen at PSU – they did give us some palpitations
I wouldn't use the words "perfectly calm"
but I did have confidence in the offense while watching the game.
Similar feeling
During the 2001 Ohio State game, back when Zack Mills was a savior.

324 Game
I wouldn’t say I was calm, but I had a feeling.
After those 2 quick scores by OSU in the 3rd, a lot of the other students in my section piled out. Out of our group of 8, 2 stayed and we were rewarded to a great comeback victory, not to mention Joe’s 324. The people that left were barely out of the stadium when Mills broke that run.

Highlight video... found it
1994 Championship Season “Rose Bowl Bound”… definitely check it out.
What a season
’94 was. I contend that was the greatest offense in the history of college football, they were perfectly balanced with running and passing. Every home game I went to was over at halftime. A traditional I-formation/play-action attack that was pure art and science on the football field.
Jeff Hartings and Marco Rivera
No college football team should be allowed to have two pro-bowl offensive lineman at one time. It was boderline unfair. Most NFL offenses would be unstoppable if they had those two guys. Carter could have run for three thousand yards that year.

Not to mention....
a TE that has become known more for his blocking ability that pass-catching ability.

It was like a dream...
I experienced my first home game in Happy Valley in ‘94 — it sort of set the bar high. Went to the homecoming game against OSU. It was a thrashing. I had forgotten that OSU was ranked at the time, I think around no. 17 or 18 — yet it was 35-7 at half, and 63-14 final. As disparate as OSU and PSU have been over the past 10 years or so, at least it’s never gotten that bad for us. The ’94 Michigan win seems SOOOO long ago. Was Moeller still there at the time?
Talk about offensive firepower — we can only imagine what Kerry & Co. could have done if they were running the Spread HD…

It was funny because they thought they had a chance
They didn’t. The final score was only 63-14 because we pulled up in the second half. We could have scored 100 points that day.
