Lets set a line...
I couldn't find a line for this weeks game anywhere, probably because CC is D1 AA.
Anyway... I am in no way qualified to set lines but if I had to place this one I would go with PSU (-52).
I don't know anything about CC but I'm very confident our 1st team offense will score points and being that some of our 2nd team offense has guys that could be first team i think the subs will also score points. The defense is another question but if they give up anything i don't see it being more than a 7points. at (-52), i like the over...
Any thoughts?

Extremes
My guess is the cfb books shy away from this sort of stuff because a.) they have ~150 more interesting teams to read up on than Coastal Carolina, and b.) spread estimation becomes a guess when one of the teams is not playing their hardest for the majority of the game. They essentially have to read Paterno’s mind as to when he’ll take the horses out and the variance is way too high there to make money reliably. As I remember Appalachian State didn’t receive a spread against Michigan last year, either.
More interesting is if the books discouraged setting lines on these games because of situations where the superior team’s head coach deliberately runs the score up, in an attempt to satisfy boosters who bet on the games. I’ve heard of both Tressel and Rodriguez cited for this sort of shady behavior before in more competitive games.

That's the line I came up with....
With an o/u of 68.5.

there are almost (?) never D1a v D1aa odds
It’s hard enough to develop an expectation for a BCS v non-BCS school, there just aren’t enough common variables.

Penn State (-38)
Final Score will be 41-14.
PSU will dominate the first half, entering halftime 35-0.
Then the 2nd and 3rd stringers will play for the 2nd half.
PSU will add on 6 more in the 2nd half, giving up 2 late BS touchdowns, probably through the air, which will make us all doubt our swiss cheese secondary going into next week against Oregon State.
At least this is how it plays out in my head, which is what I will believe since I will probably be too drunk to actually see what is happening on the field (or I’ll see the whole game in double vision – wow, are there 44 men on the field?)

If you look around hard enough....
There’s a few sportsbooks out there that have D1 vs D1-AA lines. I can’t remember which one but I know I came across one last year. Just browse long enough and you’ll find it.
Anyways – I’m saying 56-7, with CC getting the final tally of the game sometime in the final 5 minutes. 35-0 at halftime.
And I’m betting the wife and kid on Utah +3.5! Probably the small moneyline actually.
As well as BC -9.5 vs. Kent State
and Clemson -4.5
and Fresno St +5
and Missouri -9
and Michigan St +4.5
and Oregon St -3
That is of course, if, eerrr, uh, I was a betting man
