A Walk on the Banks
I should be working, but instead I surfing the internet where I found a suprising well written Rutgers Blog. It used the occasion to of the Penn State/Syracuse game to add a "Rutgers Prospective" to the whole confrence debate.
While it's not kind to Penn State (it's actually quite bitter) it is well written and pretty educational. In short, it's good.

They're just mad that
their coach’s dream is to leave their school and coach for ours. That was easy to figure out. Oh and maybe that they were our designated punching bag for a healthy string of seasons. They were our Temple before Temple agreed to be our Temple. Either way it doesn’t matter.

Whatever...
I just though that the guy presented a very interesting perspective on something we talk about a lot.
I actually spent a while going through his blog, it’s a shame nobody reads it, because it is pretty good.

Very god read...
for those PSUers with their full spectrum glasses on, gives opposing perspectives on the Eastern All Sports Conference among other histories.
I knew Vo-Tech was a somewhat new phenomenon – I just didn’t realize they were as lousy as they were so recently (i.e. 15 years ago).

Va Tech
Yeah, I was in Roanoke this past weekend for a triathlon and watched the VT/UNC game with a bunch of Hokie brethren. One of them mentioned that he figured he wouldn’t be able to even get into Va Tech nowadays b/c their football program brought them so much more national recognition that they now get far more college applicants and their core qualifications have picked up so much. I thought that was a very interesting notion. Beamer has done something really substantial down there.
And, btw, that game was in UNC’s hands. You can totally tell they’re a Butch Davis team: mad, crazy athletic talent: I mean ridiculously big, strong and fast kids (and very young, still) and so, so stupid. Dumb as butch penalties and no ability to keep their foot on the neck at all. It was really an unbelievable turnaround by Tyrod Taylor of all people and of course brutal agressive D by Bud Foster. It’s always fun watching another team’s game with their fans.
