Navorro Bowman Named Co-Defensive Player Of The Week
Pretty good.
In his first start, Bowman recorded career highs with 11 tackles, five tackles for loss and three sacks while adding a forced fumble and his first interception during a 45-3 win over Temple. The sophomore linebacker pushed the opposing offense back 17 yards with his tackles for loss, including 13 yards with three sacks, and returned the pick 29 yards inside the Owls’ 20-yard line. Bowman spearheaded a PSU defense that held Temple to 16 rushing yards, 138 total yards and 10 first downs while racking up a season-high seven sacks. Bowman earns his first career weekly laurel.

Even against Temple
that is a sick line of stats.

I feel........
PSU needs to at least cover the spread this week or else the focus on the cupcake schedule (read, PSU is over rated) will be exacerbated.

I don't think so
Illinois is still a ranked team. Just beating them should be enough. Any win in the conference is a quality win. But beating them by two touchdowns would make a statement with the pollsters.

it might help our perception this week
But if we manage to win all or most of our games against the teams we are playing for the rest of the season we will be fine.
I don't know, Mello Yello is pretty awful. What's the worst that could happen?

Making a Statement
Will not be a problem this weekend. Their D has so many holes and so little depth. It’s gonna be a brutal night for them. Whatever weakness/slowness we’ve shown in our linebacking corps, Juice & Benn cannot possibly keep pace with the scoring we’ll put up on them. I’m picturing Minnesota and Maroney in 2005. Dag, it’s gonna be a fun night.
