Evans And Koroma Back At Practice
About time. Fight On State has the goods:
Sources tell FightOnState.com that Penn State defensive linemen Abe Koroma and Maurice Evans practiced Monday for the first time since a Sept. 2 search of their on-campus apartment turned up what police reported as a "small amount" of marijuana.
Last week, both players were slapped with misdemeanor marijuana possession charges. Lion coach Joe Paterno has consistently declined comment on their status with the program, saying he wanted to see how things play out legally and with the university.
Evans and Koroma missed State's last three games. But both former starters were back at practice Monday wearing red jerseys, signifying they were on the second-team defense.
"Yeah, both Mo and Abe were back today," one observer said. "Who knows how much action they'll see this week [against Illinois]? Depends on the shape they are in and how the coaches — or at least one coach — feels about it."
As another observer explained, "Both of them got into drills today and were in the red jersey. I thought Maurice looked pretty good in his technique drills. I didn't get to see much of Abe, but others said he looked like he could contribute [this week]."

Joe's Law tougher than the state
Glad they are back. I hope they learn a lesson and realize that there is a big difference between what the police enforce and Joe’s Law. If they are not focused and in tune with what the team is trying to accomplish they should just find another place to play. They let down their team mates.

Good news
Kind of what I expected. I’m guessing we’ll see them in the lineup either mid-1st or early 2nd Qtr.
In the past
Guys like this are placed at the bottom of the depth chart and have to earn there way back to the top. It always sounds bogus, but it took Dan Connor several games to win his starting job back after his suspension.

it's fair
The guys who are starting now were smart enough to stay out of trouble so they deserve their spots. In a way it has been great to get some of the “lesser” players experience.
I don't know, Mello Yello is pretty awful. What's the worst that could happen?
hopefully these guys realize that Joe’s rules are tougher than the law.
hopefully they play…

Scary
Imagine you’re the Illinois O-line, it’s 3rd down and you’ve had a sustained drive. The D-line looks tired, but they sub in a few fresh legs. Now normally those fresh legs are the 2nd string D-line, younger guys, etc…
I predict Mo’ has a monster game — and surprises the Illini b/c they haven’t seen him on tape in a month.
This is a good sign
that both players are gonna be with the team the rest of the season. I believe both of them has learned a lesson and will stay out of the JoePa doghouse. The question remains, what will they do with Maybin? Is it possible to play both of them at the same time? If that’s the case, wow, watch out!!
Great News
Hopefully with both these guys back we can get McEowen out of the rotation and not have to worry about him getting ZERO pass rush (or push for running plays). Maybin proved he is a player, with lack of size, he will be a great threat on passing downs.

Why not a Linebacker
Why not make Maybin an linebacker he seems to be fast enough and I think he would be a great player there.
Sarcasm alert.
It’s just a shame that they weren’t charged with a felony like Shareece Wright. Apparently, that kind of offense doesn’t merit any type of suspension. At least not at USC.
