Non-football appeal
Hey everyone, i know its not football related, but this is the only place i figured i could get contact to anyone at state. I saw that i missed the sale for dead tickets, and wondered if any student would be able to pick me up 2 tickets (if they arent sold out like the public is) apparently the post has to be 75 words long, so im going to type a little extra
thanks

You can still buy them online, but there are not great seats available. I looked on craigslist and everyone is selling them over priced on there. The BJC is not a great spot to see a show, especially if your seats aren’t great. Good luck.

"The BJC is not a great spot to see a show"
The Official BSD Understatement Of The Day Award for you, sir.

No shit.
Especially the Dead. I think the BJC is the most uptight venue on the East Coast, and I’ve been to a bunch. And it sounds like a barn.
The Spectrum on the other hand (not the Wachovia Center) is like seeing a show in Dodge City.

i work at the Wachovia Center…lucky for us they are tearing down the Spectrum (aka America’s Showplace, circa 1970) and building a hotel, retail shops, and restaraunts…PHILLY LIVE…very exciting.
PSU Softball
Are they a lax about the rules at the Wachovia Center
as they are at the Spectrum?

If only they hadn't converted the crowbar
into the jail cell or whatever the hell it’s called.
Rec Hall—there’s a place to see a show.
I wouldn't trust old rooster me neither.
P-Funk All Stars
Saw them at Rec Hall on 4/20. Forget the year. And it somehow managed to suck horribly.

I think it was '02...
and I missed it because of my then longtime streak of taking naps through the afternoon and evening on 4/20.
I wouldn't trust old rooster me neither.
Back in my day
Live played in Rec hall like every other week. That was a great show.

i admit
my favorite times were seeing the clarks and breaking benjamin at the crowbar..
RUTS was p-funk recently, because my buddy went to see them in like 03 i believe… he said it was just one big song, and george clinton in a diaper
For the glory
the loss of the crowbar does suck
I saw a lot of small acts there that were great. That place was totally screwed by that “chaperone” law they passed while I was there, some nonsense about having a ration of 25 year olds to underage kids…typical PA thoughtless liquor laws. This was right around the same time they were giving themselves raises.
Now a band has to pick between the BJC and, well I don’t know where else, Zeno’s maybe? That’s a pretty big void.

I used to be on the UCC (University Concert Committe)...
and had a hand in choosing the acts and woking the shows at rec hall from 1988-1992. Got to see a lot of good stuff for free. No HUGE acts, but a lot of mid venue types.
Pearl Jam/Smashing Pumpkins/Red Hot Chilipeppers (this just before Ten was released)
Public Enemy/ Ice T/House of Pain
The Pixies/Love & Rockets
REM/10,000 Maniacs
I just can’t remember the rest.

James Taylor played Rec Hall
and Information Society played The Hub during that time.
How could you forget I.S.???
I remember I.S. I went, but that wasn't part of
UCC. James Taylor played something like 500 x in 4 years.
