Gigantic Hamburger??
When people learn that I went to Penn State, they keep asking me about the place that has the huge hamburger (can't remember exactly how big, but it takes two hands to show me). Maybe I've been gone too long, but I don't remember this as being a thing for which State College was known. Grilled stickies, yes; Chicken Cosmos, yes; Iced Teas at the Cafe, yes; Baby's, yes. But can anyone tell me where this big hamburger can be found and how the whole world seems to know about it?

Denny's Beer Barrel Pub

I was there last summer with a buddy of mine. The smallest Challenger Burger is unbelievably large… it eventually took me five sittings to finish it, over the course of three days.
Here is what my brother said about the 3 lbs. burger
“Can I eat a 3 lbs burger? Maybe. I tried once in like June of 1999 at Denny’s Beer Barrel in Clearfield PA with my best buddy at the time Chris and failed. Now I am not proud of this and not just because I failed to eat the meat. I am almost ashamed for trying. Now some of you may have dreams of someday eating the burger and getting your picture on the wall and getting a t-shirt. To save time I will offer the best advice I can to eating the burger. You have to really hate yourself. I mean you have to have nothing but disdain for your colon, health, and soul.”

Thanks!
To me, that doesn’t qualify as being close enough to associate with Penn State, but then again, half of the people down here ask me, “So what was it like going to Penn.”
For the glory
Yeah
3 things I always hear when I travel for games and stuff:
When is Joe going to retire, he is old.
Penn is a good school. That’s Ivy League isn’t it?
PSU, is that Portland State?

My buddies and I
used to get the six pounder and split it. Even the “smallest” ones are gigantic. If you have no regard for yourself, then try to eat one of the smaller versions. Its really not that far from State College, probably less than an hour away going West on I 80. There’s an exit for Clearfield right off of 80. Its worth the trip.
