Directional Michigan

I was just checking out the lines for next saturday's games and  I noticed that Directional Michigan + THEM + Michigan State are all favourites in their games.  I wonder when the last time all 5 of those teams were favourites was.

Incidentally our Nittany Lions are favoured by 27.5 at Syracuse.  And in the most lopsided spread of the week we have LSU -41 for a night game in Death Valley vs. North Texas.

Does that include Central?

Because Central isn’t a direction.

Is anyone else stunned to see PSU only favored by 27.5?

Evidently Vegas doesn’t think much of Penn State.

it does seem very low

but that’s always a dangerous though, when you think they are misguided the opposite is usually true. Maybe they aren’t sold on our ability to take the show on the road? It’s a fair judgment.

The defense

I think it’s more a function that they don’t have confidence in our defense and think we will give up 20 points or so.

JoePa

I think part of it is JoePa’s rep for not running up the score.

Akron beat up Syracuse

Akron. Akron!

Akron won at Syracuse by 14.

I don’t care how much JoePa tries to not run up the score, Syracuse’s inept defense will force him to run up the score. Unless late in the 3rd quarter PSU starts taking a knee and punts.

The act of scoring and

running up the score are two different matters in my mind.

If your 2nd and 3rd team are on the field the play calling can be conservative, but you can’t expect these guys to play at 50% during the few chances they get to play. If someone happens to break a run a scores – I don’t view that as a d-bag score.

If you are going no huddle, throwing deep, and going for it on 4th down – then yes Virginia you are a d-bag.
