I Love These Guys
In our secret heart, we knew this might be coming. We hoped for the best, but we knew this could happen.
I love these guys.
They played their guts out. USC danced, but our guys kept their composure. No cheap shots, they kept playing football the Penn State way. With all their heart.
Our fans stayed. We gave them all we had. We'll get them next year.
I'm proud. God help me I'm proud. I love Penn State.
For the glory...

I know longer know what i am, or what i'm doing!!! This quote is either from a Rich Rod press conference or Mozart's Figaro, not sure which yet.

i agree whole-heartedly
unfortunately it was hard to make out what the commentators said with USC genitalia filling their mouths. seriously, could they shove their heads any farther into the crotch of USC?
we played with heart and gave ‘em hell at the end of the game, I wish we didn’t have some of the unnecessary mental mistakes, but I was always told that you can wish in one hand and shit in the other to see which one fills up first.
Thanks for the great year State

I'm not one
for piling on commentators…usually. Is there anything more pointless than asking, and then creating a graphic, for Keyshawn Johnson’s picks for where USC players will go in the draft? Keyshawn’s a draft analyst now?
Also no one, especially Pete Carrol, cares about that ridiculous 8 regular-season-shutouts-during-the-second-half stat that they kept throwing out there. I know they had to create some sort of drama to keep us interested but give it a rest.
Zug be with you.
And also with you.

my opinion
One thing you ask out of every football team is to see them play with heart. Nothing stopped them from doing that. Today (as every day) I am proud to see WE ARE PENN STATE.

our boys
are the best! to never give up.
norwood is a beast, after that hit ( which was a completed pass) and then to come back and score a TD.
i heart those guys! i am so proud. and I cannot wait until blue white wkend!

Agreed
I am glad to see that while SC was celebrating every second the guys never sank down and took the bait. We didn’t let them get us down we keep fighting. They were quite obviously the better team, it showed especially in our weak secondary. They will also talk about how they dominated us but put Maybin two inches behind where he was offsides and we get that fumble and its all different.
So long as no SC people give me shit, I won’t be bitter because I know we blew it hard, but I must admit Im still a little on edge.
I want to thank D-Will and the rest of the seniors, without them we would be still trolling around the big ten basement, we’ll get back completely on top soon, no doubt.

Overall
a great season, just wish it could have finished better. This senior class has been great and have shown the way for future classes.

This class...
Will be sorely missed. We can only hope that we can bring in such a special class again.

Stayed my ass in my seat til the end...
The last player I saw leave was AQ Shipley and when he went into the tunnel I left shortly afterward.
We have the best fans I have ever known. You guys and gals are all awesome and I am proud to be a part of our family. Thank you all for a great 2008 football season in here!

thank god I am a Penn Stater
after watching the entire usc team celebrate with their helmets off, grabbin their tiny crotches in the psu endzone after the third tochdown, made me so happy that I don’t root for a bunch of spoiled pathetic classless individuals tht make up a semi pro football team. Joe would never ever let that happen on our sideline, and the fact that the referee stood right there and watched them do it really is a disgrace to college football. in the nfl they would be fined for taking off their helmets …it was bull sh#t and like i said, thank god for joe and being penn state

happened all damn day...
You shoulda been at the game. Those guys never stop jumping around and dancing on their sidelines before any kickoff or really any play, for that matter. That’s what they do, I guess. I would have liked to stopped them from doing it as much as anybody but our D just didn’t have it in them. I do agree we will never see that happen on our sideline as long as JoePa is alive.

David Jones reported...
…that Carroll received a call at halftime telling him that USC would be penalized if they kept that stuff up.

i was at the game....
PeteCarroll was on the field the whole fricken game ….I just can’t believe the lack of control the officials had…Im not one to blame officiating, but from my seat, it was awfully red and yellow colored glasses they were looking through…just too bad, because if they are the best in the land they don’t need the help……..I love how they tried to even up the calls with 5 yd penalties when ours were absolute backbreakers
by farrellpsu on Jan 3, 2009 12:51 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
I completely agree
I also feel like them celebrating was pissing me off even more by Herbie fellating them and being fairly backhanded to PSU, I am no longer a fan of Herbie. At one point he was drooling over how good Mays looks in his uniform, really? He looks like a god damn football player, like anyone else.
Also, listen, the way some of them acted and how they talked after the game, Pete Carroll and his players obviously didnt have respect for Joe and PSU, so next time just quit the pre game blah blah bullshit and call a spade a spade. You didnt think we were worthy to sniff your jock and showed it. It was funny to see Sanchez’s minor flipout when we made it a game again at the end. God hates ugly, you’ll get yours.

also,
I feel like I could almost understand this or tolerate it if it was OSU or UM or ND or Pittbecause they are rivals who we actually play(except pitt obvi), we have a history. Not that it wouldn’t still make me mad, but I could understand wanting to dig a rival a little bit.
This felt like I was being insulted by a stranger at the bar. I have never met you, we have not mutual disdain, so why are you being a jack off? Congrats SC, you added yourselves to the shit list.
by Roland86 on Jan 2, 2009 4:07 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
exactly
it was like they were mad at us for having the nerve to step onto the field with them.
Yes I know you’ve been here four years in a row.
Yes I know your home field is 11 miles away.
Yes I know you just played your final regular season game here.
Congrats, you have every advantage. And you still acted like total assholes.
The worst thing for me was hearing fans over the announcers yelling “go home” God that made me so mad.
I really learned a lesson from this. It hurt so bad to be humiliated and insulted like that (yes I take this too seriously, I can’t help it). I am really going to try to focus on being a good winner from now on when I have the opportunity.

I don't understand all the insults
these pretty-boy douches dancing around, titans stepping on towels, why must there always be an insult when my teams lose?
I can see if we played them alot, but we hardly ever play USC. Why the disrespect? Well, I’ll never forget it god damn it. I’ll wait for my cold revenge and I will have it some day.

Ill say it here with the hopes i don't get banned!
Taylor Mays is a punk! That was a nasty hit and he should have been kicked out of the game.
I was banned over at conquest chronicals for saying that very thing….i guess they are sensitive.
btw..i have always been a Penn State fan. I wouldn’t go so far as to wear any PSU gear but i have always liked you guys!

I never presume a hit...
is intentionally dirty, especially one as dangerous to the hitter as that one. You’ll find yourself a quardrapalegic hitting like that.
And that hit would have been a $20,000 fine in the NFL.

?
The hit was dangerous. The hit was so dangerous, that I don’t presume he did it intentionally. Norwood got a concussion, but Mays could have wound up in a wheelchair or dead.
If you lead with the helmet like that in the NFL it is an aoutmatic fine, that would have have been a big one too. It was a dangerous, illegal hit.

Jesse...
I just now noticed this fanpost on here for some reason, but you summed up my thoughts on the game better than anything I figured out for myself. Right on the money. We’ll be right up there someday and when we are, we can say we did it the boring, respectful, Penn State way.
