Another O-Line Commit this weekend?
John Urschel, O-lineman out of Canisius NY, is set to make a visit to PSU this weekend and seems very interested in the program.
“Penn State is my favorite,” Urschel said. “I could commit this weekend. There is a pretty good chance I will. I loved it when I was out at Penn State. It was great. They have great football tradition combined with great academics.” Taken from an article at Nittany Network.
Scout has him listed as a 2-star OG, and at 6'3", 263 lbs.

Bring 'em on
You can never have enough linemen in my opinion. You never know how these kids are going to work out. Offensive line is the hardest position to project. You never know if you’re getting a real Jonny Five Star or just a fat kid that was good at pushing other fat kids around in high school.

6'3", 263 lb?
Any chance the kid could slim down a little and switch to DE?
I know, the sky isn’t really falling…

Good thought
You might see some of these kids get switched to the defensive line. Don’t be surprised if Nate Cadogen ends up as a defensive tackle. A lot of schools were recruiting him there.

Lineman
Don’t most of these guys play on both sides of the ball in high school anyway? I’m sure we’ll see some DL guys come out from this OL group.
I know it may sound stupid, but are sure that PSU has offered Urschel? Maybe he’s just a preferred walk on?

offer...
’Urschel certainly knows about great academics. His carries close to a 4.0 GPA and scored a 2190 on the SAT. Urschel plans to major in engineering in college.
His scholarship offer list includes Penn State, Buffalo and Boston College, with others showing more interest recently, including Notre Dame and UCLA.
"When Penn State entered the picture, it changed everything," Harris (coach) said.’

SAT 2190
Wow, he blew the standard out of the water. Is that kinda like these new gpa systems not based on 4.0?

Out of 2400?
I think there are three sections worth 800 each now, right? That would mae it out of 2400, where 2190 seems like an excellent, but attainable, score. Around a 1460 under the old scale.

Myron Rolle and putting the NFL on hold for a year to study at Oxford. Graduated college in 2.5 years, already has one masters, is working on another, and wants to be a DR. He was from New Jersey. (and rated #1 player in the country)..wish we would have landed him

AQ came in as a 4-star D lineman.
From what I remember he was pretty pissed when they moved him over.
Guess things work out sometimes.

Same with Levi Brown
He loved playing defense and pouted when Joe moved him over to offensive tackle. That worked out pretty well for him.

This is a guy we might get more because of the strength of the engineering program than anything to do with the football field. Hope he likes Hammond?

Mudhole? Slimy? My home this is!
Okay, so my senior year I moved into Reber, but I still spent a lot of time in Hammond.

Hammond
Bleah! I only ever had one or two classes in Hammond. Being a CH E most of my classes were in the chemistry part of campus. Fenske, Warwick, Osmond, and the old COBB building which is now the Thomas building or something.
