Pete Carroll "disappointed" in Mark Sanchez's decision
Such a stand-up, supportive coach.
I understand if he privately thinks Sanchez will tank in the NFL, but you don't publicly send mixed signals because you then look like a dick.

It was not good for Pete
He didn’t get what he wanted so he pissed and moaned, there are ways of being honest without being a dick, he did not do that.
He definitely comes across as a dick
especially if you read his body language, plus he doesn’t really sing any high praises of Sanchez.
On the other hand, he probably is right, and it is kinda silly for Sanchez to declare early, since he wasn’t that great at USC, and I think a lot of his success can be attributed to his supporting cast. I wish the guy luck, though.
No way Sanchez is wrong
Why would he stay and then have to compete against McCoy, Tebow, and Bradford for 1st round status when all he has to do this year is look better then Stafford who never won a single big game in his collegiate career.

I'm not saying he won't get drafted
I just don’t think he’ll pan out in the NFL, so he might as well stay at USC for another National Championship run. He’d still get his $ for the year or 2 he struggles in the NFL before flunking out afterwards, and maybe he’d even improve a bit more at USC, giving him a better chance once he goes pro. Now he’ll go, and be on a shorter leash, since he didn’t really do anything great in college, and will have less experience as well.

it was the right decision to leave
Being in his shoes next year can only bring disappointment, hes in a lose lose situation based on his supporting cast.
If they dont win the National championship it was his fault.
If they win it all he was simply a serviceable QB on a great team.
You gotta figure that his stock is pretty high after the way he played against us.
USC is stacked with talent at QB...
So I can only think “Caesar” (haha!!) is thinking about Sanchez’s best interest. What make Carrol a major jerk-off is the insinuation that Sanchez will be an NFL failure.
Sanchez will have his degree in the spring. Weaker QB competition in this year’s draft – higher pick = more $$. Will one more year at USC make him a mainstay in the NFL – I doubt it. I think the kid’s making the right decision.
