Cameron Wake, formerly known as Derek Wake. Apparently he's been wreaking havoc in the CFL and a few NFL teams are giving him a look. I'm glad to see that's he's doing great up north, would like to see him get another shot at the NFL. This guy was a beast when he was on the field for Penn State.

how in the world did you unearth this?

I mean first off, what were you doing on a Cardinals blog? My theory, you are an Eagles fan and you were doing some “research” over on their boards for the upcoming game.

But then to see something about a guy named Cameron Wake, and making the connection to Derek Wake? Again, my theory: the post originally talked about not knowing where the guy played in college, and either you knew Derek’s middle name was Cameron, or you just did a google search and found it out through there.

Anyway, still pretty obscure :-p

You are correct, sir. I’m an Eagles fan and was roaming around their site to see what’s up. I actually stumbled upon the Cameron Wake story by accident, noticing that they mentioned Penn State as I was scrolling through the stories. I had no idea it was actually Derek Wake until I googled it.

Once upon a time

There was actually some give and take with that blog here over Morelli trying to make the practice squad. I bet his readership increased a bit in the past two weeks. Good for him, seemed like a nice guy. Eagles are gonna kill ‘em, but hey that’s life.

Not a big secret

Penn Stater alumni magazine had a blurb about his CFL success & name change. Had something to do with a family issue and wanting to identify with a different side of his family (maybe?). I’m sure someone can either find the article or fill in the details.
